Take that wrong size seal to a local bearing shop and tell them you need one with a 48MM outer diameter with all the other dimensions being the same (32X48X8). That one you have there is probably 45MM and for the other side of the bike.

If you can't find one anywhere, I have a few extra new ones, I could send you one.

Phil, do you have any idea what the exact part number was for those seals you have? Looks like a good source for them.

Awesome. I had just finished looking them up as well and you beat me to this post. I think that this should be something that should be posted permanently for future use.

Is this the wrong seal? the seal is 30x48x8 but the label is 32x48x8

The numbers should be stamped on the seal 32 48 8. If the inner diameter is 30 on the one you installed, that would explain why the seal collapsed.

That's good, put a little oil on the inner part of the seal before installing the new one. So if I understand correctly, the wrong seal was in the box marked 32x48x8?

Yes. I didn't look at the seal only the label. I thought I was doing it wrong-was hard to install. After getting the seal out saw the numbers on seal were wrong.

I was told gasket maker-silicone on the outer part too.

Yes, thin layer of gasket maker on the outside edge of the seal only, a little oil or grease on the inner part of the seal where the crankshaft spins.

It runs. Oil seal not leaking. My new ebay pick up coils need repair right away. I think I did it, but I need those pick up coils to work just right. Is there a better source for replacement?

As far as I know, there isn't anything available as far as new replacement units. Once repaired correctly, the old units should last a pretty good while.

BTW, the correct gap of the P/U coils is .027" (.7 mm).

There is still paint on the screws. If they weren't removed don't need to gap right?
