    • Friday Ride Report

We had a really nice group ride today. Bonz got us going at the designated "Stands Up" time so we were riding without delays.

Wouldn't expect to be high up in the Rockies and have it 99 degrees but that's what is was. A bit toasty. Just as Motoman had warned us. Drink plenty of water.

Fri AM Ride to Florissant to meet Skids lunch

and yes, Bonz had to slow the group down because there was a Cow in the road

Conga line zipping along on Teller County 11

Greg making a turn and about to "make that motor sing"

Good Lunch Stop at the Thunderbird where we met up with Skids

sure ain't nothing like the sound of an xs11

Five of us (Bohn, Tim, Rob, Bob & Jeff) stopped at the Fossil Beds

never realized the fossils were Redwood Trees HUGE Redwood Trees just like along the NW California coast (Eureka, Crescent City etc.)
Wierd eons ago that giant redwoods grew here in Colorado. Who woulda thunk it??? Interesting stop

            • Saturday Ride

We are back from the Saturday Rally Ride.

              Cottonwood Pass
              Monarch Pass

260 miles, had some great stops and very nice lunch at a restaurant at Taylor Reservoir.

It didn't get quite so hot today. Just 96° I think, max.
It was cool and nice for a few hours when we left at 08:15 this am.

Really a great trip and the weather was just perfect.
Will try and post some pics once we cool off a bit.

I sure had a blast and I think everybody did too.
Thanks to Bonz for organizing it all.

Cottonwood Pass sure didn't disappointed. Had been waiting for years to have the west section paved. All brand new engineered mountain 2 lane. Smooth a silk. Just awesome road and awesome scenery on a spectacular day.

A few pictures from the Sunday Ride

A few loaded up and headed for home this morning. A couple more starting out late this afternoon. Rest of group is leaving Monday AM.

Started off Sunday Rally Ride with a few miles of dirt

                      Actually a nice dirt road

Guess that's all for now. Will get a few more pics up later as time allows.
We've all been having a 'ton of fun'.

                      • Yes we have met the Webster definition of a ton of fun and we've also met the motorcycle definition of what a ton a fun means as well. While doing due diligence and meeting the motorcycle definition, we came to the conclusion a BMW K1600GTL has no peer.

Jeff thanks, your pictures are awesome the ones from today are fantastic, the dirt road picture is great!

                        • Looks like y'all had another good day riding. Looks like the group thinned a bit other than me.

Made it here to Woodward, Ok at about 4:30. This $30 room here is 10x what that $80 one was there. That last 150 miles was grueling. The thermometer on my bike was reading 112 degrees.

Glad I had the forethought to book a room here. Sitting here in the AC drinking a cold Busch.

                          • Good to hear Greg! Thanks for coming Greg, it was good to see you and look forward to the new engine so we can breathe behind you, LOL.

We had a good day with three stops. The Royal Gorge, Skyline drive and Bishop's Castle. Finished with lunch in Westcliffe.

An easy 135 mile day, after 190 miles on Friday and the 265 miles yesterday.
