Only have to make a bracket to mount tank to STOCK xs11 tank mount location. This will also be where the seat bolt will be hidden. Then weld tabs up front (looks like the stock xs11 tank tabs can be cut and rewelded!). The Hayabusa tree is also a shoe in. Just ordered an All Balls custom 30x48x15 bearing and turned the outter race down to match the stock xs11's frame...the sickness continues....chop

Wicked Chop, that's turning into one awesome bike, might be tricky to rig a speedo, Busa speedo's electronic probably, actually vacuum petcocks are the best, automatic shut off is preferable to manual on/off (not the mess of hoses on an octopus though) also the Busa front 17inch wheel could possibly make an XS11 over twitchy on the steering, hopefully not though, good luck, can't wait to see the end result.
Either way, thats going to be one sweeeeet ride and I am really digging that tank.
thinking that a pilgrimage to chops' is in order for this Spring/Summer as I have already gained MUCH inspiration for my 79F project bike from his mods to Blue Streak
btw, is that the XJ tank from Blue Streak I see in the background?
How's the weather down under? Why would steering be twitchy when the rake on the xs11 is longer than most bikes? I understand I am dropping the front some with the tubes/17 tire. I originally had in mind to do the whole bike in silver and black (was going to name it silver streak) but I may be doing it Yellow/ Black. Would be a shame to strip a perfectly good tank....Maybe "Yellow Fever"....

I can't imagine that the steering could ever be "twitchie" 29.5 degreee rake (caster) to start with. Plus you've added the two inch longer swingarm that may also slow the response some? It will be steeper with the shorter forks and smalller offset though but not by a drastic amount. My Project XS650 is the same as an R6 @24 degrees 98mm trail with a 60 series front tire and steers by thought. It's fun.

Ah yeah I'm just going on the 18 inch front I put on my XS, definitely made the steering 'twitchier' than with the 19 inch, - 'more responsive' is probably the better description, similar to raising the forks up thru the clamps an inch, but not a big deal, just 'feels' different.
Yes, and the section of the tire itself. I mentioned my XS650 for an example. I choose the same size tire as the R6 front end that's I put on and that's a very low profile 120/60 /17"series. Many factors result in the handling package of any bike. When modifying a chassis set up all variables should be considered.

I chop first then ask questions. I may even just use 1 front hayabusa rotor for looks, it is a huge disc. Also will probably machine a 2-3 inch spacer/riser for bars. Dunno Yet...

Using only one rotor means only one caliper, and that will throw off the proper M/C to caliper ratio. Thus requiring a new M/C. That's one of my main reasons to upgrade my bike with the R1 front end MORE braking! This XS11 is a bus.

The m/c will come off whatever I win off ebay. probably a 'Busa. I figure the bike will weigh 475-500 lbs. I will have to figure a speedo setup tho...whatcha think? wonder if the 'Busa rim can be machined to accept xs11 speedo cable drive?

Just got the Vegas Jackpot seat. Lazy WAY..... BUY IT NOW. Beats spending a whole weekend fiberglassing the seat area, just to take it to the upholsterer and charge me another 100 bucks....
