Looks like this years rides are going to more closely resemble parades.
I think we might need a bigger restaurant for lunch.

Limie Accent will be present at the rally. I have been diligently bringing her back to the condition she was originally. She is running very nicely and looking good. I think that I actually saw a smile on her face just the other day? Not completely finished but will be by XSSE time.
I hear that the Navy bike is coming. I hope some more of Bob's bikes will be in attendance.

Haven't posted much lately in here, been with my 87 y/o mom getting things organized and packed to get her moved down to Fla. from Ala.
Greg, my OEM odometer went out at ~975 miles after I got it, but the Tripometer kept working, and it goes to 999 so I just used it to keep track of miles for fuel stops.
Problems with the Menu file...I didn't receive it actually because I'm not registered at the I.H. but the Tuskegee....anyways, as was pointed out, it is in the newer 2010+ XLSx file format which is not compatible with their(M.S.) earlier versions of office....their way of MAKING people upgrade and PURCHASE the newer (crappier) versions of Office....I hate the newer layout/menus!! Anyways, to get around this without giving Micro$haft any more $$ is to download/install Open Office suite.
It's available for MAC as well as windows, not sure about iPads? Then you can open, edit, and then save AS into a regular *.xls or *.DOC file format.
I'll be arriving Friday PM with Godzilla in TOW. Looking forward to a couple of great riding days with great roads and great friends!

Both the trip and odo quit on mine. The speedometer still works great. The worm gear is done. I have a box full of dead soldiers in pieces. I'll have to rely on Bob.
This one went 2 years though.

No sweat, Greg.
Your bike's range per tank around 100 miles, right? 120 or so total?
Can you usually get 100 miles before you have to go on reserve?

I had so much fun last year I talked Linda into coming this year. We'll be arriving on Friday but unfortunately the XS11 won't be my ride. Leaking petcock and no time to get parts in. So I'll be the oddball on the BMW. We'll still have fun. Look forward to seeing all my old friends again. Especially Brent. He was the first guy I met at the first XS11 meet I went to at Bean Blossom, Indiana back in 2003 or 2004. Bohn
Hey Bohn,
Good to hear Linda will be joining you!
Sounds like we're gonna have another great trip. I know the guys have worked hard to plan and organize everything.
You guys have a safe trip, and I'll see you 2 at the IH.
I'll be looking for that cool "oddball on the BMW".
I'll be the "freak on the black streak called a Kawasaki."

I got an email reply back from IH yesterday.
It said,"You can fill out your choice for Sunday when you arrive. Thanks!"
So I assume they got my info ok.
Thanks for posting the software fix for the menu, T.C.
I figured it was software incompatibility, after my Macs wouldn't work with what they sent, and then Phil's Windows PC wouldn't either. Then Greg posted he was having problems, too.

Well Bob, when I had the 100/90/19 tire on the front it would go right at 100 miles before the light came on according to the odometer. When I went to the 110/90/19 it went to about 90.
I can make it from Tulsa to Sallisaw riding normally (about 80) but I have to switch to reserve. I usually try to stop and refuel between 80 and 100 miles to keep on the safe side. It takes less time to make an extra stop or 2 than to run out of gas.
I spent an hour or two along the Cimarron waiting for Cody to bring me gas that one time.

Since running out of gas with this bike sveral times...I now carry a spare gallon in my pannier...I really miss the 300 mile range i had on my ST1100...this thing is running out of gas @150 miles
While the weekend is forecasted to be warm dont rely on that...it was supposed to be warm here the past 2 days and it has been cold and rainy. The past 2 mornings have been in the mid 50's and we are not eeven 500 feet above sea level...so you can expect it to be alot cooler out in the mtns. Keep in mind as well when you see a forecast for some town...it will be cooler in the mtns...no matter what the temp is...

Ok, that's about what I figured.
Tim's Valkyrie usually can go 150~160. We went to KC a few months ago, and the gas pumps were screwed up where we fueled before we left, and were agonizingly slow. He swears he topped his tank, but I'm pretty sure he stopped short about a gallon. We got back on the pike to head back home, and according to my OD, we had gone 123 miles when he told me "Oh no, I think I'm running out of gas!" "I'll switch to reserve... Oh no...It IS on reserve!" He was flat out.
I had my new syphon hose with me, and I still had over 1/2 tank left. i figured, "No problem, I'll just give him a gallon of mine, and we'll make it to the next station." Well, that doesn't work on mine.
It was then I found out when my tank gets 1/2 or below, you can't syphon any.
My tank's design gets thin and flat, and goes back under the seat. I couldn't even get the hose wet!
Wound up riding 25 miles to buy a can, and bring him back some gas.
An hour later we were back on the road again.
Since then, he repeatedly gets 150-160 per tank...BEFORE reserve.
No way he filled that tank full that night.
You know the route better than I do, since this is your 3rd trip out there.
If there's plenty of stations every 80-100...cool.
I'll let you be the judge if you think you might need an extra gallon in a can to bring along. Just remember, if you're out, I'm around 1/2 to 2/3rds tank.
2/3rds, I might be able to syphon some. But not much.
