  • I think I forgot to mention the Iron Horse added ice chests to the rooms this year. You only need beer and ice. The chest is there. I don't know if this applies to camping spots.

I was gonna throw an air mattress on the floor in the room Harry and Tod were in last year but there wasn't room. They were almost sleeping together the twin beds were so close together.

        Room 302.

Says it has a king bed...
Now wondering if there will be any room to walk around the bed?

          • The king bed is really the two bed's in the room put together as one...or 2 twin beds....debatable if they are really king sized....

                  Hi Bob,
That sounds like the room Mark had last year. Suitable for one or a couple if you bring the Mrs. Don't bring the cat as there is no room to swing it Quite why the ancient and hopefully discontinued practice of swinging cats is used to measure the space in a room is a mystery to me.

                    Hey, Phil...
Sounds like it should work out fine, then.
No Mrs. anymore...so more room for me.
GF can't make the trip this time, so it'll just be me.
No cats, so no worries there, either!

Look forward to meeting and riding with you, Phil!
                    See ya there!

                    • How many, if any early birds show up on Thursday?

I'd like to ride the old girl back up there and hang out with y'all again but it looks like a quick overnight on Thu is about all I'll be able to manage.

There’s something about going riding with your friends, a feeling of freedom, a feeling of joy that really can’t be put into words.
It can only be fully shared by someone who’s done it.......... on any sunday

You still have time to swap your shift or whatever it takes. Your organizers will try to be there around lunch time on Friday. Some folks are coming from a very long way off.

                          • one suggestion or request I'd like to make is that we do a group picture with all the bikes and riders in front of the Iron Horse...before we go out for the daily ride...last year the "group" shot was later in the day and consequently a certain contingent from the midwest were conspicuously absent...

Perhaps we can pull that off, but it might be a little tricky. We have a lunch date at The Farmhouse in Etowah, TN and a prime rib dinner waiting at the lodge. The photo will require an early gathering. I'm certainly willing to make the effort.
