Some things you need to know before your trip
Beer-Wine-Alcohol – We are a dry county (this means we can’t sell these products). However you are welcome to bring your own. You may want to stop on the way to IH to purchase these items. You can purchase beer and wine at Ingles Grocery store in Murphy, Andrews or Bryson City, North Carolina. Alcohol can be purchased in these same towns at the ABC store (state run store).

We have coolers for rent and ice for sale.

Our restaurant is not open to the public. We only serve our guests.
Breakfast is served every day 7:30 – 9:00am. We will ask you to sign up the night before, so we know how much food to prepare. Forms are available at check-in.

Dinner is served Thurs – Sunday. Each day we will have 2 dinner choices. The meal selection form for your stay is attached. We ask that you fill this out and email it back prior to your visit. This helps us plan the amount of food to bring in and prepare.
Because we are not open to the public it is important that we only prepare for the number of guest planning to dine with us. We appreciate your support.

Massage Therapy- We now have a spa room and offer massage therapy. All massages are by appointment only. Please call ahead to make your appointment. What a great way to end a day of riding.

OK, its almost time to RIDE. All the waiting is finally over.

Have a safe ride to I-H give yourself some safety margin based on the capability of both bike and the driver.

....... remember the bike in front of you may be a better machine operated by a more skilled rider.
Also, watch for sport bikes coming up behind you (or Goldwings) . They will pick you off in curves and pass left or right of you if you are holding up the show.
Maintaining concentration is important at all times on the these highly traveled bike roads with all kinds of machines operated by drivers off all various skill levels.

              See you Friday,
              Jeff

                • Looking forward to it!

Just checked the area forecast along our route going there...

All looks good, highs around 80, lows mid 50's...mostly dry, with the exception of return day Monday...
                  NC and TN looks wet.

But looks good for the weekend!

                  Connie's ready.

I got my menu email from IH today. Tried to fill it out, but couldn't. Guess it's a Windows format? I got a Mac...
So, I typed it up and emailed it to them.
Think I'll call to confirm they got it.

                      I noticed that, too John.

But, if you read the posts closely, he says Sunday is "To be determined".
Also talks about possibly bringing dinner from another place if we wanted to, if they aren't offering dinner that night.

But, according to their letter, they say they offer dinner through Sunday evening... so not sure why.

Maybe Jeff or one of the gang from there knows.

                      Regardless, I doubt we'll miss a meal.

I just tried to call them, but got a answering machine.
If they call back, I'll ask about Sunday night's menu.

Looks like SWMBO got her MIL to watch the chitlens this weekend. She is a go for the trip as well. Just adjusted out tent and dinner reservations. We will be rolling in some time after 6. SWMBO will be riding my first bike, the 81 XJ650 Midnight. She may not ride with us on Saturday depending on how the ride up goes for her. This is her first trip more than and hour as driver. Y'all will be nice right???

                          • They'll have Sunday dinner for those who want it. No worries. In 2012, some of us made a grocery store run and we had an outside picnic. Heading out to a fine restaurant, or most any restaurant means another hour in the saddle. Most of us will want whatever the IH is dishing up!

                              • She is sitting over my shoulder saying she can never remember what the abbreviation means any how. Her name is Nicole and has almost 500 miles under her belt in under a month. She takes the "TWISTY" roads around here for practice. We have ridden together multiple times now while the kids are at school, and she is as ready as she can be.
