  • Your scaring me Marty............NOT!

I'm trying to get this bunch of hillbillies to talk to me about the trip. So far all I know for sure is Bob and I are meeting for breakfast @6:30 before we leave and we plan to meet up with JW and Ryan in Little RocK @ ? o'clock.

My odometer went fruit on me so I'll be winging it between gas stops.

    Ain't this exciting?

      • My front is cupped to Ben. It's the same front I had on last year.

It kinda hums when I get into a corner hard but it grips good. I think it's from the time I was riding without the fork brace

        • well mine is making the front wheeel and forks vibrate at anything over 70...have adjusted tire pressure and no real improvement...that and the aging cracks...tire isnt gonna see the rally... front wheel bearings are tight and theres a Telefix fork brace on there so hopefully its the tire thats causing this vibration...

The tire I have on there now ( Shinko 720) has had a hop right at 75 since put it on. I've balanced it several times but it seems to persist. Once in a while you get one like that.

The best front tire I had is the one I blew in Arkansas 2 years ago on the way over to XSSE. Smooth as silk. It was a 720 also.

Only got to put about 500 miles on it before the "incident".

            • this tire is a BS 11 whatever that is...it seemed ok all this time...its been on the bike well perhaps a year before I picked up the bike ...I've put over 6000 miles on it and while it has good trad life left...I'm just not happy with the vibrations...age cracks pushed me over and new tar will hopefully get here well before its time to scoot on out to Stecoah...

                    • Hey Greg, ya needn't worry too much about the odometer on the trip.
I always reset mine at fillups, so I'll keep ya posted when it gets to be time.

I've been crazy busy with work the past 3-4 weeks!
                      About to wear me out!

I saw yesterday you tried to text me Sunday.
                      Sorry I missed it.

I bought a new Scorpion helmet today. Pretty nice. Has an internal sunvisor, and pump-up bladder inside for adjustment. EXO-500 Corsica, in red/white/black.

I also picked up a large roll top waterproof dufflebag for my clothes from cyclegear.

I bought a TomTom Rider motorcycle gps a couple of months ago, but didn't like it. Anybody wants it, Get with me, I'll sell it. Comes with a ram mount...fully waterproof.

A friend of mine bought a 7" tablet, mounted it on his bike, and downloaded free gps software on it. Then downloaded a weather app, uses his cell as a hotspot, and turns on his data when he wants to see weather radar. So, I did the same, and put mine in an Otterbox Defender to protect it. So far I like it.

I'd like to get Jeff to send me the route plans, but not sure what format would work with the software...? Using NavFree USA and Navigator, along with the WeatherChannel app. Navigator gives me an option to use TomTom maps, but they aren't free. So, I think I'd have to spend $20 to do that, then it would possibly allow me to download his TomTom version...but not sure yet.

As far as next Thursday goes, plan's still on for breakfast. Then off to Little Rock to meet up with John. As far as where we stay Thursday night, Cool with whatever you guys want to do.

Do you have any kind of intercom, or are you interested in one if I bring my extra G9? Let me know.

                        Yeah, I use finger signs...............

I think JW is working on the hotel accomodations.

Jeff will get you the GPS coordinates if you need.

Sent y'all an email tonight but haven't gotten any response yet.

My maps on my phone work fine for me. I cant plan routes but I can punch in an address and ride right to it.

Went for a ride out around Lake Gibson last Sunday, was just trying to see if you wanted to ride along with stereomind, ambisinister and I. That was what the message was about.

So, I'll see you at Ollie's at 6:30 am? We'll find NC from there.

                          Hi Duwayne,
I do try and do the easy stuff I put the rear wheel back on with new tire installed. Look at this thread for the adventure of rear oil being drained.
