  • The weather cleared up for me as soon as I got to Knoxville. Had a great ride up to Blue Lick state park in Kentucky. Treated my bike to a couple tanks of ethanol free gas and myself to a couple of Dewars. We're both running great. I'm going to go play in Hocking Hills today on my way home.

    • made it home safe and sound...340 miles in 6 hrs...avg speed was 56.6 mph but i was going alot faster than that... weather was perfect...the only casualty was my speedo broke the last 140 miles...not sure if its just the cable or inside in the speedo...Great rally...cant wait to do it again next year...

      • Pulled up in my driveway around 3:30. The house is still standing and my daughters are still alive and well. I think they might have even left me some groceries for supper.

It was great to see everyone again. I enjoyed the weekend a lot as always.

Jeff and Marty came through again. Thanks to our leaders and sweep riders we only had a couple of crashes that were non injury mishaps.

              • Where's Mark? I'm home! Had a great ride home until I hit Columbus when the cold rain started. Total mileage for the trip was 1,670. Thank you to all who worked so hard to make this rally such a success. Had a great time and can't wait until next year.

                  • Adversities during a rally are certainly not what I want to stand out... It was the lowest point and I am very thankful that the bike was the only real casualty. However theres no question that it won't be forgotten anytime soon

                    • our SE XSive 2014

If people were looking for TWISTY, then that's what we did.
If people were looking for a lot of Decreasing Radius TWISTY, Off-Camber TWISTY then that's what we did.
A lot of 1st gear usage pulling through hairpins on those 12 degree grades testing 1st & 2nd gear, did that too.
The combined Saturday and Sunday rides were 468 miles of which 200+ miles was hard core twisty and another 150 miles pretty twisty compared to roads a lot of other places.
Easy place to get spanked. Those that rode that Hurricane Loop on Sunday after lunch got in 510 miles of twisty riding for the weekend.

Routes were are bit complex with like 100 turns but it kept us away from congested areas almost traffic free.
Maybe too complex with such a large group considering all the variables but it takes some riding to stay in the best ride roads. At least the weather was awesome. Scenery is pretty awesome too.

                      Special THANKS to:
                      - MikeP for trucking the shirts and banners up from Atlanta
                      - Karen for spending five (5) hours on Friday collecting the shirt money and distributing the rally shirts
                      - Gary for leading M Squad and Bruce for providing the all important sweep
                      - Marty for leading N Squad and Brent for providing the all important sweep
                      - Earl for helping too
                      - Brent for being MC at the Awards & Stories hour
                      - Well equipped Pit Crews & Tech support & Master Mechanics to handle the on road incidents

Seeing all those Bob Jones bikes in one place was really great. Thanks again to Mike for coordinating that effort. Having Charlie & Barbara there tell us some Bob Jones stories was a memorable event. The weekend went too fast but at least we have some pics to remember it by.

                      It was fun ..........

                      • Hi Jeff & Marty,
Yes it was an awesome rally. Thanks.
While i missed the hurricane loop I did find some great roads to Marion VA.
Riding Hwy 16 over the Back of the Dragon in the DARK was perhaps a bit much but at least I was not holding anyone up
Special mention for George who rode shot gun for me as I was about to run out of gas. actually made it but Thanks George for the peace of mind.
Coming down 151 I was very glad I had new brake pads installed for this ride.
Addie never missed beat all the way. After all my effort before to get the left indicator working it quit after the first turn from home and never blinked the whole trip.

                        • Dang it Phil! I thought I told pretty much everyone I had an extra gallon of gas in my saddle bag. I could have saved you some grief.
