I think Jeremy is onto something. Why couldn't we make it a riding rally?Start on the coast on say Thursday,Ride to eastern OR or WA.Then on Friday ride another 300-400 miles south through eastern or central OR,Sat back west 300 miles or so to southern OR or northern CA coast and then Sunday we could all ride home.Or we could reverse the order but I think it would be fun to make a big circle. Also I think it would be a good idea to pick camp grounds next to or near a motel.Members could join us at any point along the route.

      WOW!!! That's ambitious.

I would need to get a more comfortable seat for the XJ, before I could handle that many days in the saddle.

It's looking like for Eastern Oregon, we might need to camp at John Day or around it. There just is not much for camping there. Anybody thought about rattle snakes in their tents over there?

Sorry Bob I don't do snakes!!LOL If I don't get it done this weekend I'll get it done in a week or so.(I have a new grandson due any day)I'll plot a 3 day ride coarse then post it to see what you guys think. It sounds like people are hip to this ride idea so I'll go with it a little bit and see where it takes us.Are you still planning a ride back east this summer?

The trip back East has been postponed. My wife and kids don't want me to go alone, so i need to respect their wishes for now. Maybe next year. I so want to do this before i am to darn old or sick. We have a trip to Disney planned for the end of June, so i sure hope our ride doesn't come at that time. Still have not solved my high rpm loss though.

I don't think it will interfere with your vacation I was thinking it might be safer weather wise to plan for late July or August.I don't know anyone up there to help you on your bike. But if you get it down here for a couple of days I help you and see what we can figure it out.Maybe if we put our heads together we could come up with something.

Thanks for the offer Terry, but i really do need to isolate this myself. That is the way i learn and remember things. I have to learn about this bike if i want to make that long trip. Besides, it would be a chilly ride to Bend this time of year. LOL

                        Riding in th NW

                        Hey Ya'all,
Tim Mix here. Been out of the forum for a long while but decide to log in today and am glad I did. I am sad I missed a ride to Detriot lake since it is close to my house. I live in Hubbard, OR.
But I would like to particpate in a ride this year, if one happens. I would be willing to help organize it, if someone needs help. It would be a good distraction.
Anyway, if anyone is up in the area and wants to stop by and chat that would be great. Email mail me at cessnafixer@yahoo.com
                        Cheers!

Welcome back Tim. I'm in Salem, it's always nice to meet a fellow XS nut here locally. My ride is down for some repairs and modifications, should have it ready to ride in another month or two. We should get together for a ride sometime later this spring.

                              Hey Larry and Geezer,
                              Glad to meet you both.
That would be great to go on a road trip somewhere. I'll try to get my Brother-in-law in on it too even though he has a XS750.
So these group rides...are they stickly XS11 or can people with XJs and XLS go too. I haven't been on any rides with club memebers and honestly I never discriminated people for what they ride as long as they don't do it to me. (This is why I don't own a Harley)
                              Anyway Just thought I'd ask.
                              Cheers!

Hey Tim. I don't know for sure about the other guys, but i don't care what people ride. The whole reason for riding is for enjoyment. For me it is rehab as well. I hope we can put this trip together for summer. I also want some shorter rides. I do plan to wear out my new tires this summer. Glad you are hear.
