Sounds to me like the owner is going to have to invest a few dollars for you to get those sorted out.

Been following this, and would like to add a couple pennies. After you get carbs, jets, fuel flow, air filters, the bike running and synched, the most accurate fuel height adjustment is made with bike running, on center stand level both ways. IMHO the float measurement gets you real close and good enough to get it running, but if you're as OCD as me, running fuel levels are another fine tune method along with color-tune.
1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
      1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
      1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
      1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
      1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

If you know, might want to ask why?
You called it. Straightened out 3 of 4 tabs. Last one broke.
