Sounds to me like the owner is going to have to invest a few dollars for you to get those sorted out.

Been following this, and would like to add a couple pennies. After you get carbs,jets,fuel flow, air filters, the bike running and synched, the most accurate fuel height adjustment is made with bike running, on center stand level both ways. IMHO the float measurement gets you real close and good enough to get it running, but if you're as OCD as me, running fuel levels are another fine tune method along with color-tune.1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors

You called it. Straightened out 3 of 4 tabs. Last one broke.You are dealing with a mess that is for sure. Those tabs can only be bent back and forth so many times before they break off. I would probably apply some heat to it before trying to bend it back down. From what you can see are the seats and needles that bad to warrant doing that to the tabs? Who was it that worked on them?
