Installed an Avon Triple Duty sidecar tire on the front and a car tire on the rear. Really sticks to the road.

Thanks Ranger. Next step is to install a nice gas tank I picked up at the AMCA swap meet in Oley PA back in 2019. Real nice original paint. I will be using the NOS tank badges I bought from you off of eBay. I am going to clean the inside first with apple cider vinegar and then neutralize the acid with a baking soda solution.

Cleaned the "good" tank with apple cider vinegar. Soaked for 24 hours. Lots of crap came out. Neutralized acid with baking soda and water (base). Made sure it was bone dry inside. No flash rust. New petcocks & new NOS emblems from Rucksack Grunt.

We'd talked about darksiding before and I went with a Bridgestone Battleaxe BT46 instead of the car tire I found. Circumstances have changed as far as travel plans go and I'm headed back to The Smokies in a couple-three weeks so having the round shape makes a difference as opposed to Midwest and interstate state riding where the flatter contact patch makes more sense.

But enough of that, it looks like you built one heck of a ride there and every time I see a custom rig it makes me wish I'd stuck with life in the shop instead of the other things I've explored.

Thank you to all. This web site is a must for anyone who owns one of these amazing motorcycles. LAB3, I love the car tire but let's see how many miles I get out of it pushing a sidecar. I have put about 2000 miles on the bike so far riding all over New England. I will have the bike in Greenfield MA this weekend at the AMCA Yankee meet. I have been going to these meets for over 30 years. I found my XS1100 gas tank in Oley PA back in 2019 for $100.00. Had it on a shelf until Tuesday of this week.

I don't like going to shows like those since I'm used to having the oldest bike everywhere I go!
