I have been wondering the same thing about the R1 forks/hub speedo thing? I should take a look at it soon?

      real soon

Yeah, I was just looking at a busa wheel. I will look into it also. Almost looks like the xs11 drive hub can be machined from the inside to take the Busa axle. Whats the R1 axle Diameter? IIRC the xs11 axle is 18mm??

I just measured the R1 axle diameter, it's also 22 mm. The R1 dust seal assembly (bushing with dust seal) that the speedo drive will replace is 18 mm deep x 22 mm I.D. x 28 O.D. The dust seal itself is 46 mm O.D. That's a difference of 4 mm I.D. 2 mm radius that's .0787" on each side humm I wonder if the XS11 speedo drive could be bored to 22 mm? The drive looks as if it can physically be made to fit if I can make it drive from the R1 hub?

          drive hub choices

I am looking at the royal star, road star axles trying to see if they are beefier. I did find that a bmw k75/100 axle is 25mm, now to see what drive hubs look like.... I remember that the xs11 drive looks like quite a bit can be removed....IIRC.the xs11 axle is 17mm BTW....

Hi guys, XS axle's 17mm, the speedo drive could be milled out inside from 17mm to 22mm at the extreme limit, you're looking at around 31mm minimum distance between wheel bearing and inside fork leg to fit the XS speedo drive.

Trouble is the speedo might not read really true with 17 inch, but saying that, my 18 inch still reads the same as when 19 inch, so any error will probably be insignificant..

How about a nice digital speedo, that reads a magnet placed on the rim. Easy to mount, very adjustable and possibly more accurate. I here you can get them from bicycle shops for not to much money. Might be other types for sale elsewhere also. It would help to keep your front end looking clean, uncluttered and solve your front wheel/gear problem.

How about a central mounted rev-counter only, with a bicycle speedo on a bar beneath - not the handlebars, those sigma type speedos are real good, accurate as, big sized mph numbers, easy to read at the right angle

                        speedo

speedo will be my last headache. I just got off the phone and this muffler will do. '06 ZX6RR muffler(took advice from mathH that these newer 600cc bikes put out enough power). Question is should I leave the valve in or chop it out?

chop it out. Is for creating torque at lower revs. You need that on a 600 bike, for a 1100cc bike it will be an obstruction.
