I got a phone call earlier today from Brant!
We talked about motocross and setting up a race sometime and he sounds really good, a little different but good! I was covered in oil and cylinder hone grit at the time so it was sort of a surprise but I've been totally stoked all afternoon -- Brant's doing great!
That's so good to hear ... thanks for posting, Scott!Marco

Yes, it was great to hear Brant's voice again.
He sounded very much like his usual self.
Anita said he's out of neurology now and in PT.
Brant and Anita- hang in there, and don't forget we're still pulling and praying for you...both.
After watching my mom go through 13 years as caregiver to my dad, I know how hard that role is, and the toll it can take on them.
I can only imagine how frustrating this entire ordeal is for you both.

BobSuch an important, crucial stage in Brant's recovery ...
Bob, when you spoke with Anita, did she mention what, if any, neurological findings were made by the doctors?
The physical, mental, and emotional stress can be overwhelming in a situation like this.
If I may ... Anita, as you help care for Brant, please remember to make time to take care of yourself. He needs you strong, both physically and emotionally.
So yes ... both of you (Brant and Anita), please know that we haven't forgotten about you! You're both still very much in our thoughts and prayers.Marco

I wanted to ask, but knew she was right there with Brant, and something started happening there that cut our conversation short, so didn't get the chance to talk with her about that. Sorry.
I'd like to know, too.'82 XJ1100J Maxim (has been sold.)

I got a call from Brant. He is home now, sounding much like his old self but he says he feels better than he sounds. He made an open invitation to anyone coming through the area to stay at his house (big yard) and eat/visit etc. It was good to hear his voice!Jerry Fields

GREAT NEWS!! When you get over, let him know we are thinking of him! I had my "one big ride" for the year(short by my standards, but oh well). I'll try and talk Penny into another trip out that way next summer....Ray Matteis

I'm probably almost as happy he's home as he is! Good news.Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

Brant is not home
I gave Brant his cell phone so some of you may be getting phone calls. He is still in the rehab unit at St. Mary's Hospital in-spite of what he may tell you.
Post more later.

Brant Update
FYI. Brant is still at St. Mary's Hospital in the rehab unit, at least till 8-19. He may be going to a skilled nursing facility from there or extending in rehab, we just don't know yet. If you get any calls, remember, he is still very confused. He has memory loss from the head injury so sometimes he makes up stuff to fill the gaps. He still has 24 hour sitters as his mind writes checks his body can't cash. IE: walking.
Today was great! Soccer Mike, his friend Steve, and Bobber Roo came in last night on their way back from Sturgis. Feed these guys and they will work!! Took out the trash, moved furniture, and brought "Bentley" venture back to its clean and shiny state. Brant was scheduled to be on the Sturgis ride with them so he hasn't been there but Roo brought him the T-Shirt. Tried to talk them into painting the inside of the house but I guess my roast beef dinner only goes so far.
They spent a while at the hospital talking with Brant. It sure was good for his spirits.
You guys on this site are absolutely the best!
Mike cleaned up the helmet Brant crashed in. I asked him and Roo to sign it. If anyone is interested in having your name on the helmet, please let me know.
Need: First Name, State, Screen name, and what bike you ride.
I will be writing your info on the helmet. Will be giving this to Brant to let him know all of his friends that are in his corner.
If anyone wants to send a quick video to Brant, you can email it to personeusa@gmail.com. I will make sure he sees it.
Thanks all of you for everything. This group has been a harbor in the storm. Ride safe!

You cooked roast beast, Anita? They should have painted inside and outside of the house!
