  • Motoman Hurt

I got a PM from DeanR a little while ago that said he and Brant, Motoman, were riding their ST1100s back from Grand Mesa in Colorado when a lady in a pickup truck turned in front of them. Dean said he barely avoided the truck but Brant didn't and the lady took off.

Motoman's in the ICU and the cops went after the truck and driver. I just talked to his wife and she said the rest of the family is on the way and he needs some serious prayers.

    Excerpted PM:-

    DeanR

Very sorry to have to post this. I'm at Brant's house in Grand Junction after having been at St Mary's Hospital. Anita is still there, as is Brant's son and daughter. We were about three minutes from his driveway, returning from Grand Mesa, when a pickup made a left turn DIRECTLY in front of him. He had no time to react. Not a pretty thing to witness and for me to JUST MISS.

Brant has multiple injuries. The doctor said that taken individually they are not life threatening. Brain bleed, facial injuries, broke pelvis, broken femur, broken wrist. Internal organs appear to be ok. He will be taken from trauma to ICU for careful monitoring. Probable surgery tonight, likely the first of many. It will be a long recovery if everything goes ok tonight and the next few days.

The felon stopped, then immediately took off. Due to eyewitness account of the girl travelling right behind me, she has it seems been positively id'd.

I almost want to head home, but will be in Ouray tomorrow. For how long I don't know. See you then.

My prayers and best are going your way Brant, you are a good friend! Heal up and get rested as you work your way back.

Could go on and on about the pick up truck driver, but suffice to say she will get her due.

    It's you we care about.

Look forward to hear when he can take guests/visitors.

Prayers goin' Your way for a healthy recovery, Brant.

              God Bless

The exact same thing happened to me last Friday while on the way home from work, only I was in my truck and the young fella turned right in front of me at the last second, no injuries but my truck is totaled.
He was arrested for being under the influence at the scene.
