You'll need to fabricate some kind of spacers For it Phil. Otherwise you'll be lifting on the exhaust. And use tie down straps so it doesn't fall off.

And then fill the bike with two-stroke oil 'cause it's such a pretty blue.Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

My first idea is hockey pucks or do you already have something I can copy? It has been so damn cold this winter yesterday was the first decent day I could get out side to assemble it. I have tie down straps. I figure it will make oil changes and tire changes much easier and faster.

What I did ( Friday).... Picked up my seat/cowl from the body shop. The PO scraped the crap out of the rear cowling as he removed and installed the seat and kept hitting the rear luggage rack. I had lived with the scrapes long enough. My buddy owns a shop, and when I picked it up- it was a perfect match ( Indigo blue factory color), and best part---- he did it free of charge. Honor Collision in Honor, MI is a great place!79 F

Sold one of my SF's a couple weekends ago.
Last night I removed the carbs off my favorite ride (78E) and have to clean the green funk from them (Damn ethanol gas). I used a gas proof compound to fix these carbs about 2008 and I accidentally broke it off, so a new (different) #3 carb going on that bank.
Once I get them cleaned and synched etc, I have my 79SF to clean carbs on and change oil. Then on to some riding!
Might not even bother getting the 81MNS running this year as I can't seem time to ride them enough to keep them running.2-79 XS1100 SF

Got new tires put on!! Tomorrow the wheels go back on the bike along with new shocks from MikesXS and the yamaha bags are going back on too.
The bolt on my rim mount was bent and mangled so I left those out. The guy helping me said it wouldn't be a problem. What does the mighty xs11.com say? I put a Dunlap 404 on the rear.78 E

Yeah, I can see after a good nights sleep that my post was pretty vague.
So, it's basically a rubber piece that goes inside the tire, pushing against the bead to prevent slipping. I would post a picture, but I forgot them at the shop.
I also had the name completely wrong, I am talking about the rim locks.78 E

Well done Ray,
Looks good in the pictures. I know you worked hard to be ready in time and made it. Having fun is what matters.

The fairing actually makes almost no difference in top speed or MPG! That is the great part of the Pacifico! The later fairings, based on the Vetter design, is like a barn door! I lost 2 to 3 MPG with the Vetter on the same bike.Ray Matteis

I stripped her down and got all up in her. I got my Vetter fairing bracket cut down so it fits my Pacifico fairing. Today I got most of the install done, so now my fairing will be properly mounted instead of mounted with a ****ty pieced together self made bracket that was gonna get me killed. Seriously I got home from my last fairing'd ride and found that **** broken after doing 75 to 90 mph on the freeway. Luckily I saw that ****. Anyway on to this story, not that story. So I just need to make my wire-harness to plug into the fairing, I had made one before but it was way way way too long, so tomorrow after work I will cut it down to proper size, and install it. I'll post the photos later, I gotta put em up on my WordPress apparently.. I'm a little lazy about it right now.1981 XS1100LH
