Finally got an LED headlight. Been running an HID for a while, but burned through 2 ballasts and 3 bulbs in 2 years or so. Hoping the Truck-lite bulb lasts longer (for $163, it better!). Only complaint I have is the high beam flickers at anything lower than 1500 RPM with the Geezer reg/rect. I doubt that will be much of an issue on the road, but it was worth mentioning.

U must have gotten the round one, as the square one was much pricier. My review of the bulb was okay. I did not feel it was much better than the HID as-far as brightness. A plus is that you do not hear any noise like the ballast in the HID. And yes, mine flickers too below 1500 (stop lights).

Yep, round one for in my Windjammer. I liked the HID for brightness, but there was a bit of scatter since the reflector wasn't exactly designed for an HID bulb. At least now I have a nice bright bulb with the proper optics behind it, and I will cross my fingers that it lasts longer than the HID setup I had.

Sitting here in Ft Lauderdale airport, just about to board the plane to St Thomas. You boys go have fun on your scooters. In a couple hours, I'll be on a white sand beach with a sissy rum drink in my hand. The wife spoons better than you do anyway, John..

& ordered a replacement from powercycleparts on eBay. It shipped quickly but today I got to wrenching today and both the rubber harness & the wiring connector don't match the stock. I sent powercycleparts an email and will see what s/he has to say... so far I'm only out ~$10US.
Just writing to see if anyone knows where I can find a replacement starter solenoid for the XS1100LG?
Also, I figured I'd crack open the old one to see if I can fix it...
Check your PM's, and folks, I have copied this post into a new thread in the Tech Disc. forum, so please reply with any tech info to that thread. Thanx,

Rode from BC to Shelton WA and back. A bit over 400 miles. Bike races at Shelton. Yami is quite happy at a steady 80, and I limited him to about 90.
Bought new / used gas tank which will get cleaned and installed some day soon.
Lowered the needles with the clip in the center position. They were in the highest position. I am guessing done by bike shop for PO when they put on a new set of pipes. Yami sounded like he wanted to blow up with that arrangement. I put on a new set of 4 into 1 pipes and he ran fine, but a bit rich. Running sweet now, will check plugs again soon.
Jacked Yami up to check swing arm bearings. They seem okay, but there feels like a bit of play in the wheel bearings.
Will make changing them a winter job, and check swing arm bearings again.
Anyone else had play in the rear wheel bearings?
Well I only have partial use of my right hand so I can't do much. But I spent some time today looking over my E crank shaft. Did a quick check with caliper and I'm happy that there is no taper. It's a very low (10,000 m) engine, no accidents etc. so the run out should be cool. I put the whole thing in the ultra sound and then polished all the bearing surfaces with a cloth and "autosol" to look for any gauling or serations. It's looking real good so far. I'd like to put in new shells on the connecting rods but can find any that are any better than what I have so I'll put the originals back in and plasti guage everything see how it goes from here.
