I don't have anything that would work for a WJ. I use a Pacifico which has an upper mounting bracket to tie it off too.

not quite sure what this would work for. It definitely would not work as it is with a Pacifico. Still have to rig something up.

Oh, I apologize Nathan, I've been reading all threads on Pacifico installation over the last couple days and musta got confused thinking you were still in need of the mounting bracket as shown in this past thread:

          http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread...bracket&page=2

Yes I agree, the ebay ad doesn't show all that is needed to complete the mounting.
It's missing the shock absorbing, half pipe, bracket that hose clamps to the upper frame mount for the fairing but at least the bottom part is there if your in need of that.

I think this is more what I need, but finding it may be a bit more difficult:

            • Nope, need more parts for me to make this work. Just got done reading Jeffs and Nates thread about the PACIFICO fairing mounts and this damper is definitely for that mount, not my vetter mount.

But I did read somewhere that the pacifico mounts and vetter mounts are almost interchangeable, so maybe I can stumble across an upper mount and fit on my bike and if needed get the damper too.

In all my research, I did come across a whole list of Yamaha part numbers for accessories galore.

                • Run the 78E for about 10 miles just to be sure she was ready. Started the 79SF but it is bobbling a bit so have to deal with carb issues I think. Tried to start another 79SF but it's battery is a lot low so it is on the charger. I love those AGM batteries as they are the ones that fired right up after a long sleep. The 79SF with the normal acid filled battery is on the charger. It went up to 11 degrees here today and the snow is melting so had to start a few of them.

Did you sandblast the engine while it was in the frame?

                      What sandblaster do you use?

                      • I did it in frame because I had frame spots to blast anyway and touch up.

I used the very inexpensive Harbor Freight spot blaster (grey plastic non pressurized) that was about $25 on a coupon. I used glass bead media also from HF. Its so fine, the finsh on the aluminum is a nice satin but smooth.

I could have tried soda blasting, but did not have any soda.

To fix up the spots I blasted, I touched up the frame. Thinned rustoleum from a can and a foam brush. Flows on and into cracks easily.

                            • Rode my daughter’s bike to work yesterday and on the way home I felt something hit my foot (never a good sign) and the bike got really loud. Then I heard clang, road the last 1/2 mile home trying not to rev it too much. Got home, checked the bike and the header pipe to the #2 cylinder was gone! Hopped in to the car and to trace my path and found the pipe in the middle of the road and luckily no one had ran over it.
