Crashed it...
Changed my line too late in the turn...
Slid off into dirt and leaves with cosmetic and ego damage only...
First crash in 30 years...guess I shouldnt get complacent.
Drove away.

Showa Showa!
I got Showa rear shocks from a 1997 Honda 1100. They were missing the metal part of the bushing on the tops, so I had to pull my old ones to use. They look awesome!! 45 bucks shipped from Ebay. Will report on how they ride tomorrow. Now just waiting on new rubbers for the footrests.1979 XS 1100SF Serenity

Picked up my bike !
Well it happened again my bike cover acted like a parachute and the wind blew my BDF Special over. No real damage a few scratches the crash bars and the saddle bag soften the landing.
The one good thing that came of it is my right rear flasher is working again. I thought it was the bulb that was gone looks like it was just needing to be groundedBDF Special

Put on the stock exhaust that I picked bought. Chrome is decent, some rust, some sings, but is is solid and very workable. Plus it was only $50!!!

Ok Nate, did that stock exhaust help the running at all? I know you have been fighting with the tuning on that thing since you got it. I hope that those pipes help with your problems.Cy

I do like the mellow rumble of the stock exhaust rather than the rattly ricer sound of that super trapp.Nathan

It's been nice, cloudy, rainy, weather today so I did some more work on the Bush bike.
I tracked down and fixed the bad harness connector under the seat that was not letting the tail light work. I'm glad it was a flaked out connector and not the Light Checker Assembly.
After I got the tail light working I kick started the engine for a test run but it kept backfiring, running rough and wouldn't idle. At first I thought it was just the weak temporary battery I'd put in it flying south for the winter but then I noticed the #1 and #4 exhaust headers were stone cold.
A few quick tests later and I put on another TCI. The engine fired right up, idled and ran almost perfectly with no backfiring. It still needs the carburetors officially synchronized and the mixture screws set but it's not far off after just setting everything by eye.
It's been a good day so far!-- Scott

Rear Brake pads
I replaced my rear brake pads this evening. I knew they were bad, but didn't realize how bad they were.
Ground all the way down to the rivits.
Also got around to fixing some broken solder joints on my turn/hazard switch.
What a PIA that was. It took me 2+ hrs to finally get the joint hot enough to melt the solder so it wouldn't break again.
Didn't get a chance to mess with the project bike (Scarlet) at all.Hi, my name is George & I'm a twisty addict!
