Are the 78 and the 80 standard sidecover emblems different?

    • Both side and tank emblems are different between the 79 and 80. 79's use outlined lettering, where 80's use solid lettering.

As long as the writing is the same style I wouldn't care, I would want solid black anyways.

They can do them in a lot of different colors. I brought them my original badges, they used those to duplicate. I sure if you sent them a hi res photo with the size you want they could do it. If not you could send them the badge you want replicated. Here is their web site. Give them a email I am sure they will be able to answer any questions for you.

That's the problem, I don't have any badges. I wouldn't have any problem refinishing badges that needed refinishing if I had those, but I don't have even that.

              Got ya.

Maybe a member here could take some Hi Res photo of the badges you need?
Then you can have them made up.

                • Put off what I knew had to be done before the ColoRally. Pulled carbs and changed outside carb mains. Had 110's across and because of the dark brown color on outsiide cyl. plugs, dropped ousides to 107.5's. Synced, reset idle mix and re-sync. Ever so slight bog leaving from dead stop. Knowing after cleaning up advace mechanism that the vacuum can IS the culprit not initially advancing off idle all the time. Can reach down and apply ever so slight pressure to can shaft and it does its thing. Other than that, just took me a bit to giter'dun. Makes it nice having the ST as main ride and can put off doing what needs to be done on the Venturer. Ray and a couple other Cali folks pretty sure got it covered and are bringing a couple cans to swap out and try. That would be the extent of doing anything to the scoot while at the rally............Rallies are to RIDE.......not wrench on scoots, unless totally necessary, IMHO. Ride safe all!

I installed my new decals. Had a local graphic shop make them up. I love the way they came out. Cost $50.00 for 8. 4 side cover decals, 4 tank decals. The local shop had to reproduce the side cover ones from scratch. If they did not it would of been a lot cheaper. Now that they have it the cost will be a lot less if I ever want to have them made up again or if any other members want one.

i like the look/colour of those emblems as well,

                      • added dashcam and rack

In preparation for the Durango Colorado Rally, I added a mount for a dashcam (I can video the cops if they stop me!) to the support bars of the windshield.

I also figured out that rack I bought that was way wider than the frame cuz it was for a bagger - I made brackets out of mild steel 1/8" x 1.5" and bolted the rack to that.

                              • This afternoon I drained the middle and final drive dino oil to put in some Royal Purple 75W-90.

I must have pulled on something with my right hand as I reached under the bike with my left hand to put the drain plug back in the middle drive because bike tipped over to the right off the sidestand.

My upper body was trapped under the saddlebags, the driver footpeg and rear brake lever jabbed into my abdomen and the front crash bar pinned my left leg to the garage floor.

Eventually I wiggled out from under the bike, picked it up, put it on the centerstand and finished changing the gear oil.

The Royal Purple is nice stuff but my leg hurts.
