    Rode

It rained at my place yesterday, but the previous 2 days I put The Cruise Missle thru the paces. Rode about 150 miles. What a blast. I had forgotten how fun it was to ride a sport bike. The last bike I owned was a 1997 Goldwing. What a difference! WHOOHOO!!

Too cold?? In Lompoc?? It NEVER gets that cold in Lompoc!

I am waiting for some replacement MNS fenders to show up in the mail, and I'll swap them out when they arrive. I'm taking the whole next week off (Spring Break for my son and SWMBO), so I'm gonna make it a father-son thing. I'll probably do my Spring oil change this next week, and I might invest in a throttle lock as well, to help me on the trip to the MOTM rally next month.

          I rode it!!

But Sat I'm going to be installing XJ shocks on it. Then I'm gonna ride it some more!

I might change the oil in the shocks as part of the process, but then I might not, cause I'd rather be riding it than wrenching on it, specially since the weather is supposed to be stellar here this weekend. I may just burn through a couple tanks of gas over the weekend.

found some matte top coat, so i am going to spray the tank and the side covers and get them back on the bike, and sandblast (really really gentle) the exhaust to get all the small rust and stuff off of the exhaust, paint that with some high temp, and wrap the pipes, and i am hoping to be good to ride by next weekend....

Well last weekend I was getting ready to go visit Ivan. Pulled the carbs, did a quick clean of the float bowls and blew carb and choke cleaner through the jets and all the passages put that all back together. Checked the middle drive oil, changed the final drive oil, checked tire pressure. Then I see the drain plugs on my forks are backed almost all the way out. Nice spread of oil grunge all over the lower forks. So that may be a project this weekend. I do also have two trucks that need attention too. . . . shift linkage on the ford and valve seals, rear wheel cylinders and rear brakes on the chevy. I need more money for parts.

Did some polishing , installed a Dynojet kit, Iridum plugs, Venture cam chain adjuster ,new cam chain and a new rear Metzler 880 tire ,hope that doesn't start another tire thread haha! Hoping to install the green coils from MikesXS.com in the next few weeks. That alone is more than I paid for the bike

Well, I believe the green coils are out of stock now. I was going to get them and had to settle for the black ones.

                        update

I installed and adjusted a new clutch cable , adjusted idle mix, got some fresh gas. I then went on a test run , clutch action seems perfect , so I went to cyclegear and bought a throttle lock, and installed, works good too, and the bike seems to run good I am ready to ride tomorrow

That's too bad they are in stock on the mikes/xs650.com site here in Canada But the black ones are a big improvement over the stock coils.

Today I got my income tax deposit so I ordered a nice leather riding jacket, insulated leather chaps, bags for my bike, a leather vest, stiffer clutch springs, then bought more paint, tubing for my carb sync, and found a thermostat seal to fit my gas cap, great advice from one of our threads. Now I'm drinking beer and celebrating a great day!

My tires came yesterday. Over the winter I have bought a bunch of stuff for the Timemachine and Little Mo. Been rainning here and have developed a nasty roof leak. Any guesses what I get to work on today. Oh well, all in good time.
