I'd love to make that trip as well, but near impossible to find someone to watch the kid for the two or three days a trip like that deserves. Beautiful country up there, the ride from Houghten out to copper harbor would be a blast, plenty of twistys.

I'd be down for a trip like that, depending on the dates... I went to school up there and I still have a few buddies in the Houghton area, so I might have a hook-up for a place to stay (depending on how many people would be with). I know of a few decent roads on the way up there, too that I've been wanting to hit with the bike. Any particular dates you have in mind?

I think its going to be just a bunch of bikers hanging out, maybe I'll do a dyno drag on the old xs and put some Harley guy to shame....

                          nope...

I'm afraid Rhona's out of service for a bit, so this ride's a for sure no-go. Managed to bugger up the final drive (2 pinion splines busted ), and I'm waiting on a seal and o-ring for the replacement FD.

I've still got some plans in the back of my head for a trip up to the Keweenaw Peninsula in late Sept. or early Oct. sometime. I'll post something once it's closer, when both colors and temps might cooperate.

Have a good ride this weekend. I'll actually be heading down to GR (well, Walker actually) Thurs night or Friday morning to help a buddy start getting his ride up and running.

is his an 11 also? If you need an extra set of hands, or tools, let me know. I'm in GR and have nothing to do all day thursday or friday morning. I'm going to be packing and taking a nap friday afternoon and evening. Always looking to meet up with folks from the board.

Nope, not an 11. I can't remember, but I want to say it's a Kawi. Probably mid-80's. I'm heading down tomorrow after work, but won't do much tomorrow night. Friday we'll just start with fluids changing and carb synching and see what needs done from there. Yeah, good folks on this board -always good to meet more. Check your PM's.

Would have loved to do the midnight ride but we have sitter issues, as in we have none and Jess is picky about who watches the boy. I think if everything goes well we are going to go for a ride Saturday adfternoon for a while. Its just been too long since we have been out. All I have to do is convince Jess to let the sitter take Donavan to grand haven. If anyone else wants to meet for a beer and some lunch on Saturday let me know it would be nice to get out for a while.

                                Wish me luck...
