Looks like I piped up too soon about pushing it off. I mentioned it to my girlfriend last night, and apparently she had already made plans for us the weekend of the 12th. I think it would be in my best interest to not blow it off.

So, want to keep it this weekend, weather permitting? Oct 17th weekend might work, but by then it's bound to be colder... If Friday doesn't work, I would down for just a Sat/Sun trip. Hopefully the forecast changes.

I have made plans for this weekend, not that they are in stone, but like Brokenarrow stated it looks like there will be more weekends in October and it's not looking too good weather wise for this weekend. I know that I can't do the weekend of the 24th. The 17th would work for me. And the 10th.

U.P.'s Keweenaw Peninsula, is looking like it's not too possible for me at this time as a weekend gig. AHH but you never know. Put something together or make a suggestion and I may swing a 500 mile per day ride.
Thinking of a ride on the highway 119 in the lower.........just a suggestion. Or possibly to Tahquamenon to meet some of the U.P. riders.

By plans, I'm assuming you mean other than riding in 50 degree and rainy weather. I like the idea of a run up to Taq Falls or something. Weekend of the 17th should be open for me. Maybe plan on a tentative ride then. Bummer this weekend's weather isn't cooperating. Oh well. Looks like today's gonna be nice at least. Unfortunately, I'm going to be cutting/stacking wood after work today. UP ride soon, though. I'm always down for M-119. If you want to hit the UP in Oct, use my pad as a jumping off point, we can hit 119 on the way up or something.

              Cool site, Thanks.

50 deg. don't bother me much, but the rain.......now thats another story.....will do it if it happens, but I'm not much into planning a rain ride.

Thanks for the offer on the take off point.....for some reason I thought that you were located in the U.P. May take you up on the offer sometime. I've got friends that say that 119 is a really nice ride, I've never done it, it's on the list now.

Rain is never any fun to ride in. How about we officially scrap this weekend, and see about a day trip somewhere maybe in a couple weeks? I live in Gaylord, so I'm pretty well equidistant from most northern lower areas. 119 is a fun ride, but once the leaves cover the road, the twisties get dangerous. Traverse area is nice too. Bellaire has Short's Brewery; always worth the trip.

Like I said, next weekend is spoken for, but shoot, I'd take the day off of work mid-week if we got a good day and you wanted to head out cruising. And weekend of the 17th is doable. Let me know what you think. Anyone other than Flatlander too?

Lansing motorcyclist gets delayed sentence in July 4 'hot lap' through mid-Michigan
By LaNia Coleman | The Bay City Times
                      October 06, 2009, 5:20PM
HOUGHTON LAKE — A motorcyclist accused of leading police in four counties on a high-speed chase while attempting to do a “hot lap around America” could avoid jail if he behaves himself on the road for the next year and a half.

Roscommon County’s Chief Circuit Judge Michael J. Baumgartner on Tuesday sentenced John W. Terberg to a deferred jail term plus fines.

If the 25-year-old Lansing man receives no moving traffic violations for the next 18 months, he’s good to go.

If not, he’s headed for the hoozgow for 18 months.

Terberg pleaded guilty to three counts of resisting and obstructing a peace officer.

Prosecutors dropped one count of fleeing and eluding in connection with a July 4 pursuit on northbound U.S. 127 in Gratiot, Isabella, Clare and Roscommon counties.

State police from the Houghton Lake Post arrested Terberg just south of M-55 when his Suzuki’s chain jumped the sprocket as he tried to re-enter the highway from a grassy area.

Police have alleged the chase hit speeds up to 140 mph.

Terberg allegedly told officers he was attempting to see how fast he could travel through Michigan to Minnesota then back home through Chicago.

Weather: A little on the cool side, but good!

I'm riding in the upper mit Saturday.

POI: Harbor Springs, Mackinaw, Harrisville, Fall colors, Good Food.......

No route in stone so if anyone else is intrested suggest a meeting place/POI and we'll go from there.

Last weekend was really nice. I think it hit 70 here Sunday. Me and SWMBO rode up to Tawas and over to Coleman for the day. Suppose to be nice again tomorrow and Saturday. Might head up north again.
