I've never been to the "vintage" show before but I'm guessing that it will be like most bike events where the bikes all park together and there are close to as many people walking around looking at bikes as there are viewing the show. I do know that "admission" is 8 bucks and its only 10 to enter the show, which includes admission. Also there is supposed to a swap meet at wings stadium in K-zoo that same day, its only a short drive from the Gilmore museum to there so you could possibly check out both. Hope to see you there!

I did a little reading on line. Don't put this in stone, but somewhere I read that you park your bike near the Country's flag that made your bike.?.??? The swap meet also sounds good.....I'm looking for some head light add ons. Anyone have any good suggestions?
Mines the black special with a cracked right side cover, no speedo, and crappy paint on the tank. Hopefully I'll bump into you and we can talk.

I'll be at the Gilmore on Sunday. I have attended for the last 4 or 5 years.
I should be heading there after "Biker church", which translates to coffee, doughnuts and tire kicking at the Common Ground Coffee House on Fulton, east of Fuller begining at 9am.
I'll keep an eye out for each of you.
It's open 8-4.
It's looking like I'll be going early in the morning and staying until noon some time.
Not too sure about making it to swap meet now.?.?.?
Heck ya! We'll have to take a run up to the bridge and back!
Ya now that sounds like a pretty good run.
A last minute thing would have to happen from my end.........I have a packed schedule. I know of one other XS owner in the U.P. and putting together some kinda northern "Rally" sounds great!
If your talking about the Eastern bridge, I know of some Canadian XSer's that would probably be intrested too and a "Rally" would have to take place too.
Good idea mstc2000!
Just reread your post sorry, you said "up"...........the Mighty MAC!!!

Reason: MIGHTY MAC
There is a big ride to the bridge in august, called the midnight ride. Hosted by the Gold wing road riders club, leaves Grand rapids at midnight on a friday and goes all the way up to the bridge where they have breakfast and some vendors. SWMBO and I went last year and it was kinda fun, there were several thousand bikes.

Yeah, they all ride together, its kinda cool. A bunch of people sit on top the overpasses to watch the bikes go by too. Last year it was just me and SWMBO and we ended up playing catch up most of the way to the bridge, I think If I do it again I'll leave a little early and get to the next stop ahead of the pack and watch them all roll by. I'll put up a post about it a few weeks before and if your going we'll have to set up a spot to meet before hand so we can trade xs stories.

Saw two XS's at the "vintage" bike show. Met a owner of a XS with a side car. The first XS I have ever seen in person and the owner even allowed me to sit on it and get the feel of another XS.
On the other hand.....what a place!!! I will be returning if not before the next vintage bike show, to see the rest of the museum!!!
I only saw one, the one with the sidecar. Neat set up but no one was around when I was checking it out. I also scored a luggage rack and back rest from the "swap meet" portion of the show for 5 bucks. I'll post up some pictures. There were so many bikes, I walked around hoping to see another xs somewhere in the crowd but ran out of time, I had a party to go to at 1:00.

Sweeeet.......got your self a good deal!!!
I did not make it over to the swap meet. I instead went into one of the barns, then another barn sucked me in and lost track of time. Also had to leave at 1:00.
The other XS that I saw was right in the middle of the row that was for japan 600 and up cc's. Looked all right, could of used some more cleaning/polishing on it, but looked like it was a daily rider and he's probably got a really busy life style right now, so I'll cut the guy some slack. It was also parked right next to one of the 6 cylinder Honda's that was in REALLY nice shape and you probably couldn't see the XS because of all the shine comming off that Honda.?.?.?
