  • Now all I have to do is figure out how to resize!

Any free photo software (go to download.com , there`s lots of good ones there) will do the trick.

Not to complain... O.k., maybe I am... but, for those who are taking their pics with a digital camera, it would be preferable to use the `VGA`setting, which is adequate for this venue. And, for those who are uploading photo`s of a higher resolution, try taking `Stralya`s` lead and re-size. Smaller sized photo`s are much easier to upload, download and view.

Remember, for those of us who don`t have a high speed internet connection, a page like this one takes forever to load!

Please don`t shoot the messenger guy`s, these are just suggestions to help make life a little easier for some of us PB`s!

On the brighter side... they`re all great pics. (I`d post some of mine but, I`d be too embarrassed.

    • If you use a photo hosting service like Flickr, photodump, or photbucket, images are automatically resized to compatable forum size.

Don't worry about how your bike looks. If you go through the pics we've got some beauties and some well ridden bikes showing some age but still kickin'.

        • Hey Revillo,

Welcome, glad you got it figured out about joining! Unless they(Yamaha) did some creative shipping, you've got a mix and matched machine! It's a Special, but it has the STANDARD=Larger Capacity gastank vs. the Specials Teardrop; and a Standard Rectangular headlight bucket, the specials used ROUND to match the gauges!

Hey MRO, the sidecovers on the 81's are much harder to loose, because they use larger round hole/hook design to hand them on at the top instead of just little flat straight slots! I've never had mine fall off at all!!

Also, it might be a S.A. regulation but the license plate bracket/light is mounted way up on the fender when it's supposed to be down at the end....for that model! Note the little reflector/light on the end of the fender covering up the mounting holes for the bracket that was moved up!

I do have a question for you Revillo, what are those 2 round things below your right side cover??

Xsilierating, we do have instructions and requests on how to post photos and the requested size for them to prevent the sidescrolling that occurs from oversized images, not to mention the bandwidth required to post them, but seems like most folks don't bother going to the HOW TO FORUM, and read the HOW TO POST PHOTOS sticky thread that's there!

Is that a Mac exhaust with a factory oil cooler?

oh, oh.... guess that applies to me as well seeing as I was trying to advise with the 'how to' instead of just telling 'em where to go...

Thanks Bud I will figure out the Size issue and the next photos will be smaller. Those side covers are available at most Bike scrap yards around SA. I found a pair in good condition.

The two round holders below the side cover are called License Disk Holders We place our Road worthy certificate in them

Unless Yamaha did something "Special" just for your country, your bike has an earlier model Standard frame with 81 Special stuff added to it. No matter, it is a very cool look, and that exhaust is bitchin.

                          • Thanks GNEPIG

I actually have no idea what model my bike is as it was given to me.

I am in the restore process and loving every minute of it. The whole respray and neatening up phase is fun. I want her to look good when i take her out.

RE: The exhaust is a COWLEY which is a SA brand and the sound is sweet it has a bit of a thump at low revs and a superbike howl at top revs.
