Wow Craz, that mini bike looks just like a 1980 XS1100 standard!

    • Yes, but I can't this site to post it any bigger. If I expand it, it only shows the link, not the picture.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

        • Bassani

          Yup,
does not seem to be many around.
Very loud , but have yet to try the other baffel I have for it.
Could be available early next year after I get my other exhaust done.

              • Awesome, but that's Derwat's 79 Special!

He picked that one up in June for $1400CDN. It's his first Street bike.

He's put a black Windjammer IV on it, made stainless case guards and has the high back seat w/backrest.

The backrest came from Fred, and the seat was on mine when I got it.

These pictures were taken in the POs driveway, the day Derwat bought it.

I loaded the pictures in whatever the default is. It never asked.

I hate anything to do with graphics or photos. People who make and use those programs are downright strange.

                    • Hey Craz,

What type of bags are those? Been looking for some that kinda style. Have a set of shoies and vetters but like that style more.

                      • Those are the (Vetter) bags designed for the XS1100.

I think these are the 1980 version. The earlier ones opened lengthwise, whereas these open sideways.

The trunk is a standard Vetter trunk, not the Yamaha designed one.

                          • I definitely like that style for the bags. The vetters I have are the universal style that have a somewhat triangular shape to them. I've got the box too, but I want to figure out some way of mounting it lower.

                            • I have a set of the Shoei bags w/ trunk , as well, that came with the bike, but they are pretty beat up and rusty.

I like the Vetter bags, as they are a lot easier to come by, but when restoring a vintage bike, I like to go with as orignal as possible. I got this whole set from some people in Winnipeg.

As for mounting the trunk lower, on the standard, the trunk is up there for a reason. The rear fender is hinged, so that it lifts up to let you get the rear wheel out from underneath.

Also, if you notice, the stock helmet lock is there on the back of the right side saddle bag.

I have a gas tank coming, that is the same color (Royal Blue) and striping as this Venture set.

By the way, that licence plate was issued, to me, in 1984!

                              • WOW!!! There sure are a lot of beautiful bikes in here. This is my '80 SG I picked up just over a month ago. This bike is in great shape.

Off topic but here is a bike just like my first bike back in '74. Anybody ever own one of these. Fun bikes for the trails.
