Bought this cheapy.
She still pulls strong.
Sound like all hell is breaking loose wen you really open the throttle (no baffles).
Sig. says SH.....picture says a whole-lotta different.

Welcome Quintin,
Looks a bit of what we like to call a Frankenbike.
What do you know of it's history? how long have you owned it.?
Your signature says SH which equals Special however the forks are from a Standard model. Not sure but expect SA got the same models as Australia unless this was imported from some other location.
Looks quite rideable . You might find it performs better with a little more baffle to give some back pressure.

Thank you for the welcome.
I need to change the signature. I bought a parts bike with the above bike and it is a SH.
I think this one is a 1979 model and I don't believe this was originally a Special.
Like you said "a bit of a franken XS11".
Had a complete carburetor rebuilt. Made such a huge difference in performance.
I have found the clutch sometimes slip under heavy exhilaration.
Will attempt to cure with clutch spring shims.

Don't bother with shims. Just get new springs. They are a point of wear, and need to be replaced over time.

Nice!........Who's the manufacturer of the 'piggy-back' gas shocks?

Looks good Don! Black-out the engine with some PJ1, and it'll look close to The Rev's bike. Round headlight makes it look like every other UJM bike though.

A few months latter it became this
Now as it stands...

Hi mcmoto,
I do like your LED running lights. I might follow your example
I am trying to keep mine looking original. If I ever get the electrics sorted out i'll add some LED lights.
