Oh yeah, I purchased the headlight too!

It actually came with a Vetter headlight, but it was scrapped up on one side, I suppose I could have fixed it with some body putty, but I kind of liked the round chrome light, so that's what I ended up getting.

The bike also has some rub marks on the case just below the heads that I'm assuming came from fairings that it once had (since it had the Vetter head light).

Since it's painted with color change green paint, Franken bike is probably a really good name for it

And that's OK, I'm not knocking it.
Except for the bars. I find those bars to be an ergonomic disaster.
But that's me. Marty loves them but he's at least a foot taller than me and they just might fit him.
I'd be surprised if you can't find a good set of used bars at a local swapmeet for ~$25.

Very close to the red I am going for on the SG. Not a great pic, but gives the idea.

                  of the two

i like the color on the std. but the special feels better to me when rideing it, because its more laid back. and seat is a inch or so lower. thats means a lot when you're just 5'5'', that one inch makes a lot of difference.

I was not the fearless leader,DGXSER chose our excellent route that day.
That was in Metamora IN,a tourist town and the rail is a tourist line but it was too early in the year for the train

                                Hey DGXER

I'm curious about that sissy bar and luggage rack on the '80. I'm fixing up
an '80 Special to replace "Sparky," my '79 Special that burned up. I'm taking the rear fender and tail light from Sparky to put on the new(er) '80. The old rack and bar are kinda rusted, and sanding all the chrome off the paint is going to be a lot of work. I'm just wondering if the bar and rack for the '80 is still available anywhere.

Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
                                I've been riding since 1959.
