Just got the bike back together and just had a 20 mile test ride (before severe thunderstorm started) Made it with just a few hours to spare before departure time to I-H Didn't want to ride VYR, to a rally I am co-hosting, on "other brand British or bike that starts with H".
ALL NEW bunch of OEM Parts for this Baltimore early 78'E #650, and HOURS of LABOR
Bike has been various stages of torn apart over the past five months. Front end off. Rear end off. A major servicing.
De-rust some surface rust in the gas tank. Re-build petcocks etc. Wheel bearings, Tires. New nuts & bolts & washers. Brake rebuilds etc. That kind of stuff. Bike needed it.
This is the bike that Duwayne found last fall. I went to Baltimore to get it. Thanks Duwayne. We really in nice overall condition, just needed a full servicing. PO said he got from guy in Ohio in 2011. Only has 25,000 miles.
Seems to zoom-zoom just fine. It even stops. No drips or drops of anything so far. I even don't have too many parts left over on the garage floor.
Was missing the drive shaft but apparently it was put in before I put the FD back on.
Leave Atlanta in the AM. With luck it will be at Iron Horse early afternoon tomorrow. Bike makes its debut at VYR. If it is busted I will put it in the bike show. If it is still running I will ride the Rally rides. Though a Service Manual and Torque wrench go a long ways in making things go zoom the way they were designed.
Greg and I are in McGehee, Arkansas for the night. We got rained on leaving Tulsa but we put on rain gear and scared it away.
I'm still thinking about where to go tomorrow but probably Birmingham, then Iron Horse in the morning.

Fred Greenly arrived very early this morning on his FJ1200. Strange coincidence, he met Scott and Greg in in the Tulsa, OK area when he stopped for a short break in the rain....
Ride up from Atlanta was good. Bike thankful ran ok.
No rain till 12 miles out then rained hard about 5 miles. Then dry last few miles in. No rain gear required. Not used to riding a nah-keyed bike. Skies were dark grey and very low dark clouds & fog the entire trip north transiting the stationary front.
Followed a TR-6 up Hwy 28. Was fun. Decided not to pass. TR-6 driver was working it good. Fun to watch an old sports car on a highly technical and very twisty road.
Quite a few Rally attendees showed up today about the same time I did. Probably about 15 so far. A day early.
Likely no PM ride tonight until the front moves away and dissipates. Will plan a Friday AM ride tonight at dinner. Then back by 1pm to meet all the arrivals for check-in.
Good to be here. Hosts worked 10 months on planning so it is nice to get this Party Started.
Scott and I are in Chattanooga. We'll be there in the AM.
Anyone know what the weather looks like tomorrow? We go soaked in between Birmingham and here today.

More than a little wet from Ottawa to Sutton WV. Stopped before the planned destination to empty the boots and decided to take a motel for the night. Weather Friday looks good all the way to Iron Horse.
Riders out Riding.
More xsives arriving already. Bunch of 650 Society 650's here. BTW more 650's here so far. But 1100's on their way. Lots of VJMC attendees too. Some new, some regulars.
