Plenty of decreasing radius, off camber technical roads to challenge any rider.

Throw in a few wet leaves and some gravel + a few sticks and it gets down right sporty.

Afternoon ride was a little soggy. But we liked it anyway. No casualties other than a bunch of dirty bikes.

Wet on Top of The Blue Ridge Parkway

XS Folks,
Everyone having a great time. We broke into several groups and "Billy" led the group I was with. We met the other groups at the top of the Blue Ridge. Unfortunately, the weather was not the greatest but everyone seems to be still enjoying the riding.

Missed you

The damage is actually not bad for going down @ 70 mph. Semi-truck pushed me into the guard rail, I went into the gravel, and layed it down. Ignition cover that I just polished is destroyed, clutch handle is broke-off (fun starting the bike in first to take-off), the Maier fairing has road rash, and sounds like something is not right behind the ignition cover. My hip hurts. Had gear on. Going to bed. Will assess the bike further tomorrow. My sincerest apologies to GLowe for the inconvenience of room & board.

Sorry to hear of mishap. Glad to hear you are OK & bike is repairable. After I arrived, George told me you would not be attending & why and that he had space for a room mate. I tried to fill in for you, and slept in the bed you had reserved (comfortable with 2 pillows), used the hot shower and clean towels provided, smoked on the porch, used the nice big ashtray, adjusted the AC with the included remote control, used the hair drier to dry my boots, stored my tent & sleeping bags in the closet, and generally had a comfortable time in the nice room.

Home from another great rally

I don't think XS Southeast would be the same without Brent's Bigtop Tajmatent set up in the middle of it all.

Yes, it was not the same, I missed seeing some again, but it was still GOOD. The roads, scenery, food, bikes and most of all THE PEOPLE!
I arrived home Sunday evening, as planned. Left after lunch and had a good ride home with only a little traffic under cloudy skies. I did take a slightly different route Saturday afternoon. Saw the most extensive ancient petroglyphs in NC and the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad. Campfire and cigar (imported from PA) was relaxing. When I think of all all I saw & did, it is hard to believe it was just one weekend.
