Thanks Greg I could have stayed with Marty group instead I got to ride behind Gary and doing the BRP at "hanging offence" speed. It was fun
Having run a few more tank fulls on the way home I have concluded I did not FILL the tank when i fueled on Saturday night after the Dragon. I made it to the gas station on reserve.

    • Next time, unless you can double the distance of an XS1100 Special, you should fill up at every scheduled stop. Don't miss a chance to pee either.

      • Hi, all!
JW, Ryan, Greg, and I left out yesterday morning after breakfast just as the rain began. It pretty much rained all the way on us to Chattanooga.
After that point, it cleared off, the sun came out, and by late afternoon and the time we rolled into Memphis it had warmed up a lot.

JW had booked us a great room for the night at the Courtyard, and he told us that we were going to take a limo ride across town for BBQ.
Part I liked the best was when we pulled up next to one of their other limo's...and we managed to talk our driver into a drag race...
We won the race, but the other limo managed to beat us to the restaurant??
As John posted earlier, we went by Graceland on the way.

After a great night's sleep, we climbed aboard our trusty steeds and rode the last 8 or so hour leg home.

The four of us rode together as far as Little Rock, and their we refueled and parted ways.

I was very impressed with how well JW and Greg's 11's ran!
And JW's son, Ryan was a blast to hang out with! Boy's got riding skills! He did great on that Yamaha Stryker.

To Marty, Jeff, Brent, and the rest who made the weekend possible... A great big, heartfelt THANK YOU! I had an absolute blast, and so glad to finally get to meet and ride with you guys after talking with you here on this forum for the past 6 years.

Ben...it was so great to get to finally meet ya and ride together!

T.C., as always... It was a pleasure to see you again!

I spoke with Bohn a bit ago. They made it back home to K.C. Ok...got there around 5 pm.

I pushed my C14 WAAAYYY farther than I've ever gone before this weekend!
Those roads are amazing! I felt like I was taking an advanced course for track certification! I understand there's some video of me putting Connie through her paces soon to be posted. Can't wait to see that!

My bike ran flawlessly, and handled everything I threw at her w/o nary a hiccup.
Now if I could just say the same thing about myself! This boy's really tired!
My calculations showed 2516 total round trip miles. 500 of them were mostly at over 1G lateral acceleration, and anywhere from 1st to 3rd gear!

        What a blast!!!

Lol... Way too many to keep track of!

I totally lost count... but the good news is, Joe...
I gave no wrong directions to anyone at this rally..........

Oh, BTW... I explained what the inside joke we got going on here actually means to a few folks at XSSE...

Funniest part of that whole deal I'll always remember is you telling me when your Kerker fell off, you noticed it sounded a bit different...through your earplugs. key words were "Just a bit different..." Lol

Kind of like my personality..."just a bit different"
              Haven't worn earplugs since...
The best part of it was I found it...found you guys..no one had to wait for me and we can still get a good laugh from it.....
              Ride safe my friend.

You guys aren't joking about the roads!
Most challenging I've ever ridden, and I've ridden in Arkansas a lot.

I can't begin to tell ya how much I enjoyed this trip!

It was tough coming back to Tulsa...the undisputed straight line, chughole capital of the world, after riding all those new smooth ones you guys have.

JW and Ryan emailed me late last night.
They made it home safely... around midnight.

So...they had an additional 8 hours on the road after Greg and I got home.
Based on how tired I am this morning, I can't imagine how tired they are!

As for me... it's back to the grind today.
Luckily, I've got plenty of work to come back to! (It kinda stockpiled on me while I was gone...) everybody wants me to do their jobs at the same time.

But, it could be the other way around, so not complaining!

Earl G and I left out Monday in the rain about an hour and a half or so of traffic and after getting to 26 it finally cleared up. It was a long trip home from there as we were held up by traffic in Roanoke and then Earl's bike lost headlights below Staunton. We tried to bypass on the road but there was some other problem so I had to travel home get trailer and come back. We loaded up and drove earl home arriving at Earls about 8:30AM. I slep till 11:00AM then drove home arriving at 2:50. PC was still on bike so sorry for the late report in.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.
