In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
Fog-Rain like driving in a glass of milk. It was messy.
Below 50 mph our glasses and visor fogged badly.
Marty and I made it over mountain back into Georgia. We are HOME.
First WET test of the new Dyna coils and cleaned up of the electrics. First wet test of the Avon tyres too even running over Blood Mountain they carved curves great. Ran just great in the soupy spray.
Arrived home ~3:30 EST, ~8 hours driving, hoping George(GloweVA) made it back safely as well...I never had any distress calls on my cell phone from him, so I can only assume until I see him post here.
Great Rally, folks/Xsives, Roads, food/drink, etc.! Once everybody checks in, I'm sure we'll give a fuller account of the events of the weekend.... fortunately nobody was seriously hurt, but a couple of bikes got bruised or worse on separate events !

If you just checked out of the Iron Horse and did not reserve your room for next year, you have until Sunday Oct. 5 to make your reservation with a guarantee of keeping the same room. After that, it's first come, first served to the rest of our group. Thank you for helping to make our rally a success!

Made it home too. Lots of rain/drizzle though all of NC east. Got to VA and it stopped.
About 8.5hrs for me. Fender bender in Durham slowed me up a bit.
Now I've got to figure out why mu turn signals aren't working. Fuses good, hazards work fine. More troubleshooting to follow.
Thanks to jeff and marty for putting together a great rally!

Thanks to Jeff..Marty and Brent for a bang up job...not literally ofc but in my reasoning this has been my best XSSE rally to date... Its always cool to meet others that I had only spoken with previously online... its always a pleasure to put a face to the name. I am proud of my home state of NC. We have without question some of the best roads in the country. Cant wait to do it again next year...when i get home i'll upload my pics...
Speaking for my brother, our friend Chuck, and myself - Wow, what a great rally!
An awesome turn out of Bob's custom bikes. Thanks to Charlie and Barbara Haas for coming and their kind words about the "good ole days" with Bob and Karla Jones.
Many thanks to Jeff and Marty for designing the challenging rides and their hard work to make the rally and the T-shirts a huge success.
Good talking to everyone there - Always a pleasure.
My first time riding on both days. I plan to continue that routine in the future.
Got a lot of good information from many different people and I truly appreciate their passing on that knowledge.
Chuck and I loaded up three XS11s Sunday evening and headed home today (Monday). It did rain a lot on the way home, but we were fortunate enough to watch it through the windshield wipers. For all of you who got wet today going home on your iron horses, I commend you on your ability to contend with mother nature. Ride safe.
Only thing that I forgot to do at the rally was to embarrass my brother by telling everyone that he turned 60 YEARS OLD this weekend.

Bob, John, Ryan, and I got a Limo ride to supper here in Memphis in a pink Cadillac. Drove by Grace Land and got an Elvis history lesson from the limo driver.
Cool stuff!

Arrived home at 8:30pm 12 hours since leaving Princeton WV.
It was raining when i loaded the bike and suited up but stopped soon after i hit the highway. Cleared up nicely and was about cooked by the time I got to Fairmont WV so i had to take off the rain pants. Following 3Phase's advice I checked the oil and needed to add some. I missed the turn for 19 so had to pay an extra toll but then found an excellent road back to Summersville where I had a late breakfast.
Billy obviously does not know about the Donut Connection in Washington PA as I had just rejoined the interstate with a full tank of fuel and a belly full of doughnut and coffee when Billy went flying by. I was doing 65 in a 55 and he left me as though I was standing still.
Made it across the New York throughway in daylight which had been my aim to avoid the stress of dancing deer.
Sunset as I crossed the Peace bridge over the Niagara River.
