I hope the weather will be nice and we'll be too busy riding motorcycles to make a tour of WTT on Saturday or Sunday. Come early or stay late!

I'd be interested. If weather is ok I it looks like I could maybe go Mon or Tue or Thurs. We could meet up on Holcomb Bridge @ GA400.
Wed 14th is a no-go for me. Let's see who else would be interested. I'll call Brent now.

Last time I was up there Dale was doing gravel spewing burnouts across his parking lot on a 1928 Crocker.
Rare vintage machine and he was WOT across the parking lot. Blew my mind .........

              • There is a chance I can make it to the XS rally..not the actual rally ride but just to hang out with a bunch of other XS riders after the ride. I won't know for sure till the last minute...may be car or bike.If not my XS it may be a HDSportster better shape than my bike I shall see.

                • STEPPENWOLF,

Bring the Harley or bring the car. Just come!

                  Speaking of Harley-Davidson:

There are a bunch of designated motorcycle parking spaces at Still Mountain, where we'll be having lunch on Sunday. Those spots are protected by that sign. I'd like to have an XS1100 in every one of those spots on 28 Sept.

                    • XS Southeast 2014 Rally Planned Routes

OK, how about something like this?
I wanted to mix-it-up a little this year and skip the South Carolina and Georgia sections. Plus throw in some new roads for y'all to try.

Here are the 'check the pavement' test rides I did with jetmech a couple weeks ago. He went home smiling so they (roads) must be ok.
I think the routes will make two darn good days of riding on a nice variety of twisty & scenic roads.

This year we have the Cherohala Skyway on Saturday along with the Dragon on a nice loop into Tennessee.
On Sunday we hit the Blue Ridge Parkway riding northbound for an hour. Then take some real curvy roads up to Hot Springs.

The Saturday Ride (Ironhorse to the Farmhouse Restaurant in Etowah TN)

Saturday Lunch at the Farmhouse Restaurant

The Sunday Ride (Ironhorse to the Still Mountain in Hot Springs NC)

Sunday Lunch at the Still Mountain Restaurant

                      Guess that's it for now. September 26 - 27 - 28 at the Ironhorse http://ironhorsenc.com/
Plan to take the Sunday ride if you can, even just the AM portion till lunch. That one is a goodie.

btw: I'll get the Shirt posted this weekend.

                      • Bummed

I just found out that I will have family obligations that weekend that other than my early demise I can't get out of (if I revolted and went anyway it might cause said early demise or worse). The route looks awesome and as usual and a very well planned event is in store! You guys take lots of pictures for us deprived SOBs. Had planned to ride up instead of trailering this year and was really looking forward to seeing the group. OK I have already informed the powers that be that next year the last week of Sept is blocked out for me so don't even try.

                          • Shirt Ordering & Such

                            Quick XS Southeast Rally update:

I'll have the 2014 Rally Shirt posted with Shirt Ordering tread up and ready by next week. (unless XS North gets in the way )
I was headed to the printer today with my graphics files but the guy I work with had taken the day off So I'll get with him on Monday
to get this wrapped up so we can get the shirt ordering started asap.
Last year it worked great with jetmech tracking the ordering process
so we plan to follow that same routine again this year.

If you looked at the Iron Horse website you may have found this Regional Maps posting. You can see from the routes we already posted
that we are hitting most of the good stuff and the Sunday ride is a goodie for either 1/2 day or whole day ride depending on your schedule.
Their I-H maps are in pdf format.
                            http://ironhorsenc.com/maps/regional-maps/

Something to look at as we count down the remaining 97 days until we all meet up at the XS Southeast Rally.
