Bandit should be a great ride! My old one did so well down there that Bruce keeps bringing it back! It has enough cornering and brake to do anything you need to. Can't wait to see it!Gary Granger

I am thinking about doing Cherohala, Deals gap, Wayha road kind of ride for Sat....these are the greatest hits roads and we have some new guys. Maybe in the reverse order, since as a group we have not done these, for a couple of years.
Brent, what ideas did you have I need to start getting a route on paper. I really like the ride we tried to do last year on Sunday, (when we had the accident), any chance we can do this one backwards as well? Then that corner won't be so bad.
Just some ideas, anybody else have a place you want to go Sat or Sunday? Bruce and I will be there all week so we will do all of it anyway .Gary Granger

Gary, didn't realize you were going down for the entire week. Maybe I should come early and let you instruct me on how to get the most out of the Bandit

I can attest to the 'quality' of the roads in that area especially the "soft" shoulders. I thought about attending this year but didn't have the extra 85K it cost last year.
Seriously, anyone who has not attended before, it's one of the great riding areas in the country. I will miss the BS & beer sessions at the end of the days ride.
Everyone have a great time and be carefull out there.

Gary,
Are you and Bruce doing the week before, or the week after? I'll come early if I can get my stuff done. I have a new job and I've been in NYC for a month. I get home on Tues and have off until the 29th or 30th. I have to go to the XS650 rally in Townsend, TN next weekend. Whoa is me!
I sure liked that last day ride we had last year. At least, I think it was the last day.Marty (in Mississippi)

Russ is riding
Hi Russ,
I know you can afford to ride. I saw you riding at XSeast in the Pocconos. I heard about you riding in the NE and checking out the nautilus submarine.
We will miss you at TWO this year, but have fun on what ever roads you ride.
Maybe a good idea to bring back the Virtual Toast... say about 10 pm EDT Saturday night..

Able to attend afterall!
Well,
I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to attend this year due to my recent neck problems? My MRI didn't show any herniation of my cervical spine, or at least not enough of one to get me a neurosurgical consult!! So...I'm taking my Aleve, and I'll be bringing Godzilla along.....on my trailer...no problems there Indy!!!
Swmbo doesn't like me riding Godzilla that far from Va. with just the bike, so I get to trailer, plus I'm heading down south to Enterprise, Al to see MOM first the week before, and then back up to SUCHES the following Friday for the weekend!!!
Gary, have you seen the Tail of the Dragon web site lately, they have lots of notes about some very poor behavior by the THP and other enforcement agencies and their Xsive enforcments of NEW speed limits for the Dragon and such! They report ride in NC are just fine with nary a PoPo in sight, so running on up to Cherohola sounds like a great plan!!!!
Also, it may not be just DALES that won't be able to get gas due to IKE and the refineries being without power for a week or so? You/we might want to bring some extra fuel cans in our 4 wheelers!?
Lookin' forward to seeing the usual suspects as well as some of the new members, Chris and such!!
Also looking forward to sleeping on the couch at the lodge, unless there is a last minute dropout with the rooms that are already reserved!? I don't CAMP!
T.C.
PS, Indy, it this guy can run this Victory Vision thru there, then you should be able to run your Bandit, just maybe not as fast!?

First off glad you are coming!
My neck and back have prevented me from riding all summer, I hope to be able to pull this off without too much pain.
I have not checked the web site...hope they are only looking for young kids.... We could split at Robbinsville and have somebody lead a shorter ride back if not everyone wants to do the gap.Gary Granger
