    Re: Another campground near Suches

Thanks, has any of our group stayed here before? If not we would like to check the place out when we get down there. Sounds nice.

      Rambling on...

      Hi all,

Thanks Brent for the info. I really look forward to seeing everyone again! - I got to bring myself up-to-speed on TWO.

I'm feeling much better in the past couple of weeks and really getting into the spirit of this ride.

I've not gotten out here much but did read the posts tonight. Pretty interesting.

      safe riding!

I saw Rob on his BMW at TWO 6-16-08 & talked with him. He will not be able to host/sponsor rally this year. He is in the process of becoming formerly married, and his time, energy, time, and finances are otherwise directed. He asked about the rally. I told him that it was on and seemed to have a life of its own. I assured him that some "other brand bikes" (not japanese and not vintage) would also be in attendance. He may attend, depending on his personal situation at the time, but he will not be sponsoring/leading etc this year.

I got a new map of area, and will check out some possible routes for Saturday ride. Any volunteers to come down and help with the "chore" of pre riding some of the routes?

If Rob isn't coming, the trailer will be available. It has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. It has a day bed in the living room and also a couple pull out couches. Just bring a sleeping bag for those. All for $85 a night.

I posted this back in Feb:

I got an email From GT, forwarding one he got from Rob, that he MAY not be sponsering this rally anymore. I am sure he will contact me at some point, if he decides to go this way.

I will make sure rides and activities are complete, just in case. Is there anything we would like to do? I would like have the cook out again, but not sure how to do this, and ride all day. I wonder if we could get it catered (by TWO) or someone else? Any thing you like don't like about the rally? Anything you like?

If Rob still decides to run the rally, then these are still good ideas. Any ideas are welcome.

So Rob not coming is really not news, I am glad you talked to him to verify it.

Next year it may be XS Southeast and Vintage Japanese Rally!

                          Count me in.

Prolly wont get a room...keeps money where it belongs, in the gas tank. BUT, I know of at LEAST one other XSive who will make the trip with me from Lawrenceville and Suwanee areas. Im sure more will join in but I missed the Pocono run in PA so I'll be there.

                            Rooms @ TWO

                            Hi,
I reserved the trailer today. Looks like swambo & Leeanne are planning to go in automobile. My wife may be inclined to lead a shopping expedition in the cage. (My usual seat in that vehicle will be available)
GT there at TWO said he had a room in lodge still available, and of course camping is available without a reservation. He may have a small cabin available soon as he is converting the old hot tub building (which recently housed a mc apparrel shop) into lodging space.

The pool at TWO was nice the last time I was there.

Roads in area are ranked among the best in the country, and the food at TWO is excellent. SO if you are lurking, and thinking maybe...Make plans & be there.

                            Life is short. Ride hard.

Here is a note from Suches:

They have finished the repaving of Hwy 60 from Woody Gap to the Fannin County line. Some shoulder/driveway blending and "fog line" striping/reflectors still remains to be done, but the new road surface is great!

Also when you come fill up your bike/truck before Suches, or call Dales to make sure there is gas. He has been out of it at different times, once for two weeks. Gas prices hit everybody and a small store like this has to pony up some serious jing to fill the tanks. I will continue to support Dales, when i can he is an inportant part of what we do there (as long as he has the fuel and goodies!!)
