Jeremy,
The XS in back together and RUNS. Whew....
The brakes are rock hard. The flasher works. I also have all sorts of new parts in it. New shocks, new triple tree bearings and races, misc new carbs parts, new guts for the all brakes, new SS brake hoses, nice, new fork seals. Fresh chrome on the handle bars, fresh paint on the front master cyclinder. I only have a few misc washers left over. Always nice to not have a huge pile of parts left over after you put some thing back together.
So all in all in the 30 year rebuild has been a good project. Can't wait for the summer ride
Sounds like we have a planning date.
think you will make the ride?

It would take some pretty foul weather for me to miss this one at the end of the month. I have have been aching to get some saddle time and this sounds like a great excuse to get out of town. See you all soon.Jeremy

My wife and I are planning to ride south from Portland and meet up with you guys in Bandon, OR. Any idea on when and where around there we're congregating for the night?
We plan on spending a day or two with the in-laws so we could be there a little before the rest of the group rides in.
I've got too much going on this time of year to take more than 3 days off or I'd join in for the entire route.

Planning meeting
Friday (27th) - Sunday (29th) we are getting together to discuss the August run. I think Ken and Syd are coming from the Great White North on Friday. All are welcome.
Lets make Saturday night the official Meeting date. We will have a campfire and BBQ. I will have something on the grill both Friday and Saturday evening. Drinks will be up to the collective.
Probably do a short ride Saturday. The route and distance will depend a lot on the weather. If it is real nasty, we will hang in the shop and bench ride.
Current forecast is for wet and cold. Real NW riders go rain or shine.DZ

Denny...
I'll be back... but doesn't look like I'll be making the run this weekend.
And as both my trucks are stick shifts... doesn't look like I'll be able to drive over for the BBQ either.
Details here in the ride report from the "meeting of the minds" in texas.

Guys,
I cant believe that I will be out of town this coming week-end. I will be in the Chicago area working.
As far as the ride plainning, I would like to see us go 2 to 3 hundred miles a day. Maybe a bit longer the first day.
Sorry I cant make this week-end.

This weekend
Ken and maybe Syd will show up tomorrow afternoon. I get home around 4:00pm, so if anybody show up before that, hang out and make yourself comfortable.
More riders are showing up Saturday, but not sure when.
A ride on Saturday will leave around noon, if we go at all. Depends on what folks want to do.
BBQ will start around 7:00pm and go until the fire goes out.DZ
