We will be eating breakfast just off US101 around 7:30. Take the fourth exit (2nd Ave). From the stop sign on the exit, the "Cafe" sign should be right in front of you. Take a right, then the next left (not the on ramp).

      See you Tuesday.

Hey Denny - Count me in. I spoke with Jason Raley lately and emailed Ken "Ratbyk" but I suppose I should let you know that I plan to be there sometime Monday late afternoon. Really looking forward to it - especially working on Syd's carbs!!! I will bring some carb tuning tools so there is enough to go around on the work day. See you all soon!

BTW - I will send a link to Deano here in PDX and see if he is interested. He is sorry he missed Ken's last year!

What! Sid's carbs need doing again? Maybe we should tape his fingers together or something so he can't get back in there and swap things around again.
          Glad your coming Jeremy.

Any chance we could pull my carbs and check float height? Have been running rich for years...

I hope that Sid has left his carbs alone since last summer, but knowing Sid, they may need a bit of tweaking!

Jerry - float height should be no problem but might as well give em a good clean while the float bowls are off. Pick up some carb cleaner on the way and we should be good to go!

I heard back from Deano (Portland FJR1300 rider) and he is booked up for most of the rally but he said that he might swing up and surprise us but he is not betting on it right now.

                See you all soon -

One change of plans...I will need to leave early Friday, have to be in Portland by lunch if I want to visit my daughter. Looks like a Friday group ride is out for me.

Got the rig packed and will be on the road tomorrow morning.

My route includes a couple hundred miles of gravel forest roads through Idaho, then thru Oregon to the coast.

I'm hoping to be on the side of the road waiting for the crew to roar by somewhere near the Astoria bridge by about 11 am on Tuesday. Which road will ya be taking southbound, 101 or 401?

If I miss you there, I'll head on up to the 411/506 north of Longview. If all else fails, see ya at Dennys.

                          Rob,

We will be coming down US101 and I would expect we will arrive at the Astoria bridge no sooner than 12:00.

                            Jerry,

Portland is an easy 2 1/2 hr ride from my house. Much of it is 70 mph. I have made it in 2 hr without going over 78. We will have you on the road by 9:30. you will be there with time to spar.

I suspect many (if not most will head out Friday.

OK, I have spent the last 2 weeks getting the place fit for visitors. I did not get as much done as I would have liked (do we ever?). But, I am ready, bring it on!

Woke up to a light rain this morning (August???). The weather outlook is good for the week. Last time I checked, 80 for the Tuesday ride to the coast.

One thing about being comfortable in the Pacific Northwest, is cover. Since the weather can never be trusted to cooperate, all things must be able to go "inside" (it make it special when we can go outside).

Hope all have a safe trip.
