  • Just confirmed,

My Brother Robert will be joining us in WV! He rides an '86 Honda CB700. We're going to hook up with Ralph & Bud in Carlisle, PA on 5/25 and we're all going down together on 5/26

Maybe others coming from the North can rendevous with us? How about it, Bruce, Gary, Dena, Marty & Sally ?

    • Dry??

I'm hoping that only the weather is dry!!
"Beer/alcohol " sales are only prohibited after 2 AM but resume at 7 AM Monday thru Saturday. Sunday you got to wait until 1 PM before they start selling again.
About the Gorge: I'd say that it's closer to a 8 to ten mile detour, taking aprox. 45 minutes to one hr., depending on photo stops etc. Besides, perhaps MartyA will let us "in" on rather it's on the Sunday trip or not. But, if it's not, - - - - then my offer still holds true. Actually, my offer holds true regardless of the Sunday trip route.
Back to dry counties: Kentucky is another story, and I think that VA. may be also.
Well, that's all for now; you "polishers" keep on shinning, you "wrenches" keep on clicking, and you "riders", keep the sunny side up! ['Just adding a little humor; nothing personal]
      Ride Safe,
      Greg C. in WV
P.S. gasoline here jumped up to $2.899 per gal; suppose to hit the $3 mark again, and that's for regular!
[Yes, I've been riding to work; Monday morning coming home it was 27 deg. F.] 'Gotta love those fairings/windshields!
'Probaboly hit a low of 72 deg. down in "Dragon Land" [Texas]!!
ALSO: GREAT news about the banner!! 'Bring her to "The Mountain State".
Montani Semper Liberi - - - - Mountaineers Are Always Free
[We're not speaking about the women; they're $$$extra!!]]
RIDE SAFE! [man; wouldn't it be SO easy to insert a joke here!!]

I'll be staying in Chambersburg 5/25 at the Holiday Inn Express Exit 14 Rt81. Be heading out early 5/26, if your heading this way stop by and we can hook up. It's 350/400 miles to Pineville from exit 14 depending on what route we take.

        • Hey, Russ.

Chambersburg is only about 40mi from carlisle, looks like a good bet we can group up in the AM. Be good to see you again. How's that fork holdin' up?

            Hey Randy,

The fork is as good as new. Thanks to Bruce. However, the XS will not be making the trip to WV. I'll be taking the FZ1 and if I need spare parts I think I know where to find a silver one. As we get closer to the rally we can take this off list and swap cell#'s and such. Maybe we can hook up with Greg and do the gorge tour on the way down if we have time.

The route I planned on taking is 81 to 68 in Maryland then to 219S to WV and Elkins. Then 55 to 15 to Summersville if we meet up with Greg or on to Pineville. 68 for a super slab is pretty nice, scenic with big sweepers. And 219 is well, 219. So if that's the way we go, everybody will be coming down 81 anyway so may as well meet at exit 14 Holiday Inn sometime AM 5/26. Anybody got any other ideas?

Greg. I'm not leaving you out of this discussion. We just have to solidify our plans before we bother you. Right now a ball park estimate would be 1 or 2 in the afternoon 5/26 for us to be in your area. However, if we get behind HamJam on 219 it will be 6 or 7 pm....the 26th

It is very hard for me to have to tell you all this , but I have to do it. There is a very good chance Tracy and I won't be able to make this run. Two weeks ago Tracy and I were told she has cancer. It is a cureable one, but she starts her treatments next week. The shirts will be brought down by my friend Bud. He will give them out and collect for me. There is a slim chance we will be there in the car with the bike in tow. because she won't let me drop the rooms yet. If you want to e-mail Tracy and wish her well you can do it at ratrhemiw@msn.com put Tracy in the subject .

I am so sorry to hear this. You will both be in my thoughts and prayers. Best of luck in the coming journey. We will miss both of you at the rally.

                        • Ralph,

My sincere best wishes to Tracy and you on winning her battle. I know from experience that a strong will and a good attitude goes a long way in this fight, having watched a close family member beat it over 20 yrs ago. And he's still around!

I sure hope we get to meet you guys in WV, but if not, we'll be with you in spirit and see you next time!
