            Hi Marty,
Hooligan signing in How many did we have at Elkins last year? Maxim runs and needs a good clean and polish. I passed through WV on my way to Florida in the cage and picked up some maps and stuff. first welcome centre I stopped at was very helpful but the second could not be bothered so it just depends on the person behind the counter. Are we still doing a Tristate ride?
To the organizing team, Thankss and keep up the good work.
            T shirt looks great.

            • I'd like to be the first to put in a weather forecast. I just googled www.wegotnofrigginidea.com and they said it might rain or it might be really nice.

              • Yes we have a tri-state route planned - WV, KY, VA.
Still working out the Sunday route to the gorge, as the distance there and back is a little long.

Mark's weather report is spot on! It might rain but it might be nice.

                I vote for nice.

Hi Marty, I vote for nice too As for the Gorge run Jim and I are thinking we might head home from there on Sunday night so great for the Northern attendees which is ofcourse not so good for the Southern attendees if they are anxious to get home.
What ever you decide we will be there

                  • Ride down into the New River Gorge

IF and I say again, IF the ride down into the New River Gorge is deleted from the Sunday ride, then I have an idea.
I'll be traveling that way home on Monday, via RT. 19 accross the New River Gorge Bridge.
If anyone wants to ride down into the New River Gorge on Monday, then I'll be more than happy to take a small detour on my way home and guide them down into the gorge and back out on the Fayetteville, WV side.
My departure time from Pineville on Monday is very flexible so if anyone is interested we can leave Pineville Monday morning any time that suits the needs of the group.
Keep in mind that the road down into the Gorge is one-way, and one must enter on the northern end of the New River Gorge Bridge [off of RT. 19] and exit back onto Rt. 19 at Fayetteville, the southern end of the bridge.
                    Ride Safe,
                    Greg

P.S. I'm just trying to be helpful; I'm not entirely sure on what the route planners have in mind for the Sunday ride. Remember; I started this message out with the word "IF".
Also, I'll be traveling this way on Friday, May 26th on my way to the Rally if this helps anyone out too. We can always hook-up on Friday and travel together from Summersville, WV to Pineville, by-way-of the gorge too.

                    • Hi Greg,
That sounds great. I am going to try and "sell" the idea of the Monday morning ride to Jim and the rest of the "Canadians"
The gorge is what about a 6-8 mile detour?

                      • The bridge tour is great if you have never seen it. I have been there five times in as many years. I prefer riding south of there. WV just has too many good roads!

                        • If anyone else is planning to come and in case the Mountain Motel is full also, there is a small motel under renovation in Pineville, about 3/4 mile from the Mountain Motel. There are a few rooms available there, they look nice, big with 2 double beds in each.

                          $40.00 per night.

Located at the intersection of Rt. 10 and Rt. 97.

Location, route, details, other updates to follow in a few days.

                            • Beer not too expensive, liquor is cheap.

Gas is about the same in all the states - $2.65 - $2.79.
                              Roads are a blast.

Give me a day or two, I'm busy at work. sixtysix and I will put some stuff together, and we'll have routes and descriptions and maps and answer questions.
