This is not meant to scare anyone but I just got off the phone with the very nice sounding girl at the Cowshed Motel.

The reason I was calling was that I was wanting to change my room (different type of beds)
So she went to the bookings and she could NOT find my booking that I had phoned in December.
This time she took down my credit card number....so I am assuming that this time I am booked?

My thoughts here are could we sound off here or in another post and find out who has booked and then confirm at the motel.

My thoughts are that if I hadn't changed my room type I may not have had a room when I showed up on the 26th of May.

I just had this funny feeling with I talked to the guy at the motel the first time.

You probably confused her by speaking a foreign language....

I will try to talk to the owner again. She did tell me that her help is not allowed to ask for a CC number over the phone, that she is the only one. So I am not sure how that works out for long term plans.

          @ Marty

I am not saying that because I give her my credit card number that I feel this time I have a room.

I just wasn't comfortable from my end as how the conversation went the first time I talk to the people at the motel.

This time was a little bit better... but not because I gave her my CC number. Just a feeling I had last time.

On a side note.... Do you all not think she understood me?

          Eh?

Just kidding Tom, perfectly do understand you I.

madbiker was also a bit skittery when he first called. I called in the middle of the day in the middle of the week and talked to the owner. I was not worried. I will check with her again to be sure those who are calling are in fact getting a reservation.

This area is NOT what you would call a 5 star hotel neighborhood. Better for us and a lot more fun. Well it should be interesting....

                  No Problem

I just called the Cow Shed and talked to Amanda, wife of the owner. I asked her about the CC numbers and reservations. She said they have never been full enough to worry about real reservations. But today she indicated they are getting a bit busy so they started asking for CC numbers and recording real reservations. She said not to worry, my group would be together as best as she could get us together and we would all have rooms.

                  Are we there yet???

                      rooms

Called down last night had a room reservation without the card number. Called down today and gave them the card number to make sure I didn't need a tent when we get there. The guy told me last night that as long as you were wrote down in the book they didn't need the card numberb I didn't want to take that chance.

                        Funny you say that...Ralph

I thought I was written down in the book as well the first time but when I change my type of room .... she could not find where it was written. Must be the time of day you phone.

I'm glad you changed your type of room ,because it made me call them back. Like Marty said I was worried about my room back then and I called before Marty did.

                            Reservations

On Jan. 12th I followed suit and called the Cow Shed once again to confirm my reservation made on 12-17.
To my amazement, they had me down with a reservation.
This time I talked to Francis, who took my card no.
The way she kept calling me honey and "hun" -- -- -- I can't wait to get there! 'You just gotta love that kind of hospitality!

                              I know ... I'm a SLACKER...

Copied from the other post ... think it may actually belong here. Oh well, the message is the same...

Sorry to catch all this a little late in the game, had one hell of a month and hardly got to touch the computer, let alone sign into the forum. Spent a few days reading up on all the shyte I've missed out on, when this thread caught my eye. With any luck, SWMBO and I will be able to attend. We'll see if we can't send the junior biker to grandpa's house for the weekend so we can get away. Unfortunately, I won't know for sure until we get a little closer to the ride date, but I'll make sure I let all of you know what the final outcome is.

                              Looking forward to it.

                                Hey Street Rat

You won't be late unless you show up on the 29th of May thinking that we may still be there.
Some of us can wait until Memorial Day weekend and then some of us want to happen like tomorrow. LOL
