(2H7-2139V-00-00) HOOK is the part number for the hook. Probably only going to find one thru Andreas or off a parts bike.
    2-79 XS1100 SF
    2-78 XS1100 E Best bike Ever
80 XS 1100 SG Big bore kit but not fully running yet.
Couple of more parts bikes of which 2 more will live!

A friend has a 650 with a starter clutch slip when it's hot instead of cold like mine. He changed his spark plug gap to .3 from .32 says now it starts every time. A small change can do a lot.

He offered to maybe help me install the kickstarter on my bike.

Can the clutch be removed with the big bolt in the middle or do all the small bolts and springs need to come out?

The 6 bolts that hold the pressure plate and springs need to come out first, then you will have access to the large nut..

Make sure you turn each bolt a small amount, like maybe half turn, then turn the others the same amount. If you remove one or more bolts without balancing the others, you are likely to crack the star plate.

Good point Mike, they can break rather easily.

Like they said, the pressure plate can crack if not loosened or tightened evenly. The M6 screw does not have to be Godzilla torqued. Just snug tight. It's steel in aluminum threads. Easy to damage.

I kind of recall kicking one once with a foldable kicker, and it seemed to be dangerously close to the side cover. I was afraid it would break if I hit it with my boot. Any clearance issues with yours?

I was worried about the side cover but it's more up by the air box.

Good idea to push up the rear peg out of the way.
