I had the same thing happen to me. How long have you had those coils? I had that happen when I first installed mine and I emailed MikesXS and they sent me a new pair and then refunded my money when those failed as well, so it is worth a try.

Personally, I switched to the Dyna Coils with their screw on connectors.

I will have a replacement shipped in the next day, these terminals are sensitive, so on the replacement, please handle carefully.

Shouldn't that be listed on the website, and I guess that makes these a set and forget type of device

          Kyle,
Before we send the replacement please try the other coil? If faulty we suggest a refund, as these have been questionable, please advise.

            Hmmmm....

If your on a budget, the Honda VF1000 coils are nice "upgrade". Otherwise, Accel or Dyna are the better choice for true increased performance over the stock units.

I would just break the other one and get a refund and get something of better known quality.

Well... He wanted me to test it, so I did.

I plugged in both terminals of the other one... And one of the spade connectors came right off.

Emailed him that the other was faulty as well.

So, what can I use now that is plug n play?

I run the Accels on one of my bikes and they are pretty goof proof but pricey. I did have one that was out of spec as I tested it before mounting it. I contacted them and they made good very fast. Got a few years out of them so far and no issues. Unknown amount of mileage at this time on these units as I forget when I even mounted them. Works great if you are using a colortune as well as the spark is very good. Sometimes cheaper wins and sometimes it sucks.

                      • Well, mikesXS emailed me again, and wanted me to check the other coil....

I did, and it broke just like the other one.

So, he said he went through the boxes of coils and found the "faulty" box, and handpicked me out a couple good coils.

They should be here sometime this week.

                        • Good Luck!! I'd hold the coils by those tabs and walk with them like that. Think about the vibrations of the wires on those tabs while the bikes running, and how long till one might break when your 150 miles form home.

                          • Alright!

Well I got the coils yesterday.

First thing I did was 2 ton epoxy the primaries and let Em set for a day.

Today I got home from work, installed the wires on them and installed them into the bike.

WOW what a difference. There is no stumble now, no hesitation.
Only problem is that it is so happy, it floors itself.

No matter how far back I adjust the idle, it only slows down the extreme acceleration.

So, I have spark and alot of it. It fires right up with no delay..

Now, what the heck is going on now?

                            • sounds like a vacuum leak.
It's allowing air in and thus more combustion, then more revs, and such until its outta control.
Check to make sure your carb boots are snug up tight, I've had one of those allen bolts back right out due to vibration.
If you've got a sync gauge(s) then you can hook them up to the carb boot intack nipples and see what suction you've got and adjust all 4 to 'suck' the same amount, then adjust your master idle set screw to get her back down to about 1100rpms.
