The reason I asked is I did ask around at the local parts houses, and nobody would say for sure that their plugs were rated for fuel. The few guys here that have tried the automotive plugs have had issues...Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Interesting as I also have asked around all the local parts houses for fuel rated caps like that and no-one knew anything of them. Really, the market would be pretty limited as there is not alot of call for capping off fuel openings. I almost wonder if someone sold you vent caps and called them fuel caps.
Reality is, you could use vent caps for this particular application. It is pretty easy to get used to not turning the petcock past PRIME. From Off it is simply down or up to get to On or Reserve respectively. You never pass go, collect $200 or pass Prime either. So the cap is not really exposed to fuel and will live there quite happily I would suspect for a decade or so.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.

Very good point, they are not a fuel blocks, just a line cap If you did forget how your petcocks work and turn them the wrong way, just turn them off, remove if even just a vacuum cap, rinse with water, dry it out with a Q tip, put it back on, and don't turn to "prime" again
