  • Also Mathh, the almost finished result looks a whole lot different than when I remember several yrs. back you showed the pic of the jig set-up when you were building that twin- spar frame set-up in order to clear those outer two cyls. along with the mono-shock set-up.Wow, that WAS many yrs. back! How time flys the older we get. Since I be the one over the yrs. who always was questioning this bikes progress, Thanks again for the pic. and progress of an awesomely designed old school mixed with new technology REAL track bike!

Well, I did several things to the bike in the mean time. The monoshock changed from Fournales air shock to Bitubo race shock from a Kawasaki Er-6. I fitted Cbr600 footrests but I got rid of them this week as I did not like them anymore. I tried maybe 10 different head lamp configurations, none of which I really liked. I now finally figured out the height of the headlamps and the fairing as I am too old for low clip ons. And now I know again why I did not finish the bike in the first place .... details! Starting with the head lamps, than exhaust, footrests, a very small wiring harness, seat height , fairing bracket, fitting electric parts in restricted place and so on. But priorities are to get it running and riding asap and doing the final details later.
And it will be a track bike. Hopefully next year, alongside the finishing of a Benelli Sei and a Kawasaki Z1 Sanctuary look-a-like.

As I am getting older I realise that all these projects are worthless unfinished so I already downsized my collection from 25 bikes to 10 now, which I am determined to get running so there is genuine hope. And many thanks for motivating me all that time.

Suzuki carbs installed with stainless steel supports added to keep them from moving up and down. The supports are fixed to the rubber air intakes to keep them from vibrating.

Well.... I have started work again on this never ending story and before writing again about it wanted to refresh some posts with new pictures as the old ones were lost during the transition to the new site. So I did that and it took me an hour to add about 18 pictures and after I finished I entered and got the message that only 5 attachments are allowed.... So, it's getting late now and try to refresh some pics from the beginning to the end in the next weeks. After that I will start posting some pictures of the new work done on the bike.Hope you'll like that.

Here a couple of teasers that did not make it to the end ....the 4-1 had to go...

Thanks man. Sadly that RC exhaust did not make it either. As of now you'll see some work that did make it to the end...

I bought some Tarozzi footrests that look a bit period and with some pieces of round steel and some machining I was able to make something to my taste.

                          This is the left side:

I did add a small gauge safety guard to stay clear of the chain

The right side was a bit more difficult because of the rear brake pump... a Brembo unit for a KTM with integrated master cylinder. I had to tilt it sideways to get the lever working properly..

                          • I also made the 6th engine mounting point. As you know I used the lower rear and the upper front ones in combination with a tube. That tube had the same size as the frame and was bolted in place of the rubber engine mounts. Eventually the tubes were bolted to the frame to become one rigid combo. The 5th engine mount came in the same spot as the breather cover on top of the engine.
And this was the solution for the 6th one (as I need 6 in total).

                            • I decided to lower the seat hump to get it more in line with the fuel tank, this is before the change:

                              • I fixed the rear lights to the seat and need a support for it, although it is not that heavy.. better be safe than sorry.

First I wanted to close the bottom of the seat but I decided to make everything as light as possible, just like the rest of the bike.

Click image for larger version Name:	20171031la.jpg Views:	24 Size:	170.2 KB ID:	876730

To keep everything in place I use DZUS quick release fasteners all over the bike. The seat gets one on top where the support sits and later another two halfway the seat fixed to the lower fuel tank.
                                Very handy.
