  • Nice score, Greg!

Brent, that tire's so old you need a new one anyway. I'll have those giant zip ties with me when I get out to Colorado so save some shekels for another tire.

And on topic for today: (drum roll, please!) I messed up the new left rear needle bearing. The bearing seated nicely but the center race is too tight so, "it's pooched!" I have a good, used, spare that I keep on the bike in case of emergencies and this would be one of those so tomorrow I'll swap out the bearings again to see what happened and pray that I don't mess up the spare.

So, I've come to the conclusion that I am befuddled but I now have a new TKat brace on Ol' Okie.

If one of my brothers out there saw fit to gift me one, thank you very much. If it's something I ordered and forgot about I'm seriously considering a ct scan.
      TKat your the man!

Brent waits until he's in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin, or was it Minnesota, to install a new tire. As I recall he probably should review the procedure before attempting it on a Buell in the pouring rain though.

Brent, Brant..........close enough guess we both get 'full' use out of a tire....and then some

FWIW, I answer to 'bout anything.

BTW, nice havin' the brace. That'll let scoot carve corners without the 'wag', on top of reduced tire cupping and relieve the side-load on fork bushing guides.

No ct scan needed if 'passed forward'.

                OK as...e

My old tubular over the fender type worked quite well before I destroyed it but this TKat brace kicks ass on that one.

That ct scan is still a definite possibility. (always loved that non committal statement)

Need to replace the old gas and possibly go through carbs. Might be rolling next week.

                                Hi,

Maybe I am procedurely (-10 spelling) incorrect? I run ethanol free premium fuel in all my tractors and toys. They all have fuel filters installed. At the end of the year if I am not using them, I drain and fill them a bit with the premium and stay-bil and run them almost dry or drain float bowls. I use the fuel for my old snow blowing tractor. I plug exhausts and air boxes to reduce condensation then change oil and filter and respectively in spring. I put a little oil down the plug holes and hand turn them a bit and clean or replace plugs when initially starting. Aside from my new to me 1979 XSF and other P.O bikes, I have never had a problem with carbs. I have generators, pressure washers 4 wheelers etc.
Is this wrong and will it reduce engine life? At least they start and you don't have to rebuild carbuerators
