      • Brought the engine inside, lifted it via ratchet straps by the ceiling joists, and checked valve clearances. Removed the ignition cover, along with the alternator and found a piece of broken off metal. Will JB Weld that soon.

In this regard, you are one lucky SOB! I assume the police in North or South Carolina had to write an accident report a few months ago. You have a guardian angel for sure!

I never saw a cop anywhere around there Marty. I had ridden well past where I crashed when I stopped and requested the ambulance. However, I did ride all over Tulsa and vicinity without fear all summer. I guess the 2013 sticker fooled all the city cops just like it did me.

Tod showed up at the barbecue in a police cruiser. I assumed they got involved.

With Tod you never know WHY he might be riding in a police car for though.

I would not want to test any law enforcement with the historic plate. I use my bike for transportation in the Summer, and could not claim I'm on my way to a meet when it has sat parked at work all day.

                              • New AGM battery (3 years old), new negative cable.

Gotta pull the carbs for this Spring cleaning next. Gonna remove the hard bags and leave the tail rack with my quick-mount for the Givi case. Its all I think I need on a long trip. I gotta pack lighter!

Gonna try and weld my left muffler crack. Cannot hurt it worse.
