      • I rode it like I stole it....

Beautiful day in Central Texas - perfect weather - new handlebars need some time to get used to so I took it out a couple of times to just ride.

            • Finally did the rear mod

I've had the parts for awhile just needed to get up the gumption. Also greased the swingarm bearings. Had a little delay putting it back together. I needed to get a bushing kit from progressive so I can mount my shocks to the new 850 differential. Think I'll tacle the rear wheel bearings while I'm waiting. Can't wait to test it out!!!

Best to get that part out of the way early in the season anyway... A few of the members here have already done that... You're good to go now...

                      • New Shinko tires delivered by UPS.

Took saddle bags off to clean them out and be nice to the tire guys.

Decided I'd take the luggage rack & trunk off while I was at it.

Complimented the designers of my luggage system for an easy on off experience....NOT. like 2 hours. Ok, so it was the first time taking them all off, and I did buy a bolt that was too long for the saddlebags which made things more difficult, but sheesh, that was long.

Discovered I have a tool kit that came with my bike, score! I'll post a pic later to see if I have all the pieces and ask what some are for.

With my recently discovered tools and since the saddle bags were off, I checked my middle and rear gear oil levels. Right on the mark. The oil looked really clean too, so I am not too worried about waiting until MOM to change those.

Found out my gas tank mounting bolt was missing. Found a bolt that fit in the trunk. Found a washer I had lying around that fit.

Went for a ride on my now half naked Monster, in the dark!. That luggage rack & trunk sure do make a difference in how she turns. I wonder what ditching that huge Yamaha fairing would do? Alas, I have no mounting hardware for my lights.

Decided riding just after the rain the other day was not good for keeping my lower chrome clean.

Now that my bags are off, I wish I had the hardware/wiring to move my turn signals back to their original position. I just feel like someone will walk by the bike and *SNAP*.

                            Hi Tony,
so you used your machinist powers to turn your buddy's caliper and fender mounts off his fork lowers.

                            • Today I put some Harley mufflers on my bike, took it for a test spin and it sounded good. I think it ran a bit smoother too. I had some home made mufflers on it before, they did okay but I wanted something that was machine tuned. I'm happy. Tomorrow I will attempt to paint the headers and brackets if the weather cooperates.
