What's that about group rate? I mentioned that it was the XS11 group last year, but never followed up trying to get a discount. So many of our guys want motel rooms that I just blew it off. What's the magic number for a group?

It's clear as a proverbial bell today! I don't believe it'll make too much of a mess as it goes back east but it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong.

I was wondering if you were bringing a Harley or what.... <ducking>

I think it was five. You said there's a group that made reservations ahead of us so they may have already gleeped it. I'll post this evening when I get back!

Scott, could put a HD cover over it, but Sandy likely wouldn't let me in the campground.

Hey, Brant! If Sandy won't accommodate you, talk to Pam!

I took the Toyota and left at 1:30 PM. I fell off a wall fixing the roof before the next storm and now I have a mushy spot in my kneecap. I don't want to hold up the bike for a while.

Pam was in the office/store at the KOA when I got there this evening. I reserved site #39, the same as last year. Pam says it takes fifteen people for the group rate. I don't know, we'll see how it goes. Maybe Sandy will give us a better deal.

The other concern I had was fuel for the run, particularly from Paso Robles to the coast. There used to be a gas station in Jolon at the entrance to Ft. Hunter Liggett but they've changed everything and it looks like the gas station is gone; need to check on reflective vests to ride on post, too. I got two stories at the gate: yes and no and maybe. Something doesn't add up....

I think fueling will have to be done in San Miguel and Gorda Springs Resort. Gorda Springs' prices are outrageous but it's only a 71 mile trip.

It 110 miles from San Miguel to Cambria and the Specials would be pushing their reserves.

That's it for tonight. It was 553 miles and I got back at 11:30 PM. It only took 10 hours for the trip up and back so I must have averaged 55 mph. Apparently the speedometer in the Toyota needs calibrating.

                    Regards,

                    Scott

Scott, I do better twistin' right hand on a scoot(specially in the dirt) against those our age and even majority a couple dacades younger than trying to match your wit, so........I'm throwin' in the white flag on that last comment.

Brant, you're still riding dirt bikes so you got my respect and you sure don't need to throw any white flags!

I bet no one told you about the ladies that wanted their pictures taken with us on our bikes and laps, either.

Sometimes you just have to be there.
