I could name a few spots in Va. but thats long distance planning again. tTheres some nice roads around Roanoke Va. and not far off the Parkway , but the parkway is patroled. the raods to it ain't.

I put my vote for in for WV.
Ohio has been eliminated because its not much fun.(thats one persons opinion)
PA should be eliminated because thats where Pittsburgh sits.(thats my opinion)

SO, we're looking at WV, VA, and a state to be named later...

As I get to do NY and PA along theway WV remains #1
Ohio holds no appeal and maybe ..just maybe VT/ME a bit cold in May? Leaves VA as an alternative in the North end at least.

Nah, I figure we can have another 2 months of fun with this before someone has to commit.

We have only touched on PA, and there ARE other sections of PA that could be explored, the southern part (not near Pittsburgh, OK) and the eastern part, there was a bit of a mumble from that end of the state. Nice neighborhood there.

West Virginia or Virginia, is sorta my vote. I can go either way on those two. They both have some excellent pavement surfaces, and twisty, senic routes.
Marty,------- I'll help you any way I can if you want to step up to the plate again.
As you and Ralph know, I've been doing some riding in VA and the Blue Ridge Prkway this fall; Harrisonburg to Roanoke area.. West Virginia is cool also; although I'm unfamiliar with the southern part of this state ,Pineville area, that you mentioned. [I plan on doing some "scouting" in that area.]
Weather here: WEIRD!! Two snows and THEN our first frost! Now daytime highs near 70! The leaves are very late; lack of rain this summer. They are pretty much in their peak right now.
Well, gotta run. Big ride planned for tomorrow! Fall foilage around the Elk River area. [Clay and Braxton Co.. WV, Rt 4 and 16 to name a few]. 'Not to mention taking the long way to get there!

Loosely organized random thoughts:

I better get in on this rally thread! Not sure where I want to go. If we are forsaking the twisties then (in a perfect world) I would like to go someplace I have not been yet. Rhode Island, Florida and Deleware are 'it' on the east coast. I should have Florida knocked out in Feb.

But I collect states and like twisty roads. I know others have no interest in this.

I really would like to ride the entire Blue ridge HWY (not possible at a rally anyway)

I don't think agonizing over the location is worth it, I have never been to a 'bad' rally.

PA is close....there is some stuff I want to see there. Southern West VA is now a whole days drive away. I would have to ask, are there better places a day away (ride or trailer) Hell, Cherokee NC is only a day away in the truck.

I guess as long as I can see new places and meet old friends then I am happy.

Bruce it doesn't take much to find a good place to eat as you have shown me in the past how it's done . I seem to remember a prime rib dinner at a bar outside Galeton Pa. , but your right we're all good for something what it is we ain't found out yet . Oh, I know chasing each other all over these states going really really fast. Where ever we go we'll have a good time .

Naming the katana The big cat should have been called Flop you know flop no this side then flop on that side. or maybe Timex takes a liken and keeps on tiken I guss I will have see what kinda bike the new katana is before giving her a name

AS for the rally. My good frends Robin and Lory said that they would go anywere with the XSive .
