A spot
Originally posted by DeanR View PostIs that right Brent, you have a spot?
You can have a bed in the room I reserved. (perhaps I may snore & fart some, but none of my smoking cigars in room.) It is better if all the Xsives can get a room in the same motel. (As XSroadrunner cleverly deduced: Since TC was able to get into a single room, I do still have a spot.)
There is a Very slim chance that a riding buddy may have miraculous recovery from pinched nerve, bad back, leg pain, pain killer drugs... ... In which case, i will give him my bed and I sleep on air mattress or rollaway. In either case, You have a bed saved for you, & I will leave the light on for you.
Say the word & the spot is yours. It is a great big beautiful world out there

Cancelled
I,m cancelling my room because my trip fell apart in the mountains of Utah. So anyone needing a room should find one open tomorrow.
First night in Cedar City, Utah watching the weather channel, I see there is going to be freezing rain and snow for at least two days along the I-70 mountain passes, some areas at 12,000 ft. On top of that I noticed the fairing moving more than normal and there is a crack in the area of the mount. My only option is to go home, fix the fairing and then go the southern route. In addition to that, I left the wife at home with the early symptoms of a cold and when I called that evening she could hardly talk, didn't go to work and was going to the Dr. Tuesday. So I tied and taped the fairing down as best I could and headed back. When I got home Tuesday evening she is in bed with pnuemonia. I guess it just wasn't to be the time for me to go on a long vacation.
I really wanted to do this trip. The Pathfinder ran great otherwise. Speed limits around there was 75 and most moving 80 or faster so you know I was "pushing it". Even with average speeds over 80 all the time I still got 43 MPG!!! 408 mi - 9.31 gal = 43.82 of course tailwind most of the way helped and comming back pushing the wind and close tothe same speeds I only got 33 MPG.
You guys 'n gals have a great rally. Sorry I can't make it as I was looking forward to meeting all of you.You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

I'm planning to shoot down to TN, run Deals Gap & Cherahola Skyway then Shoot up to Lexington and link up with everyone on Sunday.
Would love to take Visitation, just replaced the fork seals and finally put in the progressive front springs (had for 8 years LOL) and would take it if I was going to just go to Lexington, but will be on the FJR as it is ready for some high speed tarmac consumption between the ride destinations.
Looking forward to it, haven't been to an XS ride event since 99 (or 98?)2005 FJR 1300 "Mission" (NON ABS)

Dinner both evenings is with the group, however there are some options if anyone likes a particular eatery more than the one we are going to. Both evenings the ride will end up at the motel, then Darrell will lead us to dinner.
Don't think we need anything from you except your presence. Unless you have wads of money or beer and want to give it away....Marty in NW PA

Itinerary
Saturday night dinner will be at 6:30PM at Salerno's a local pizza place downtown. I asked for room for 35. A buffet of pizza, pasta, parmigan chicken and salad will be provided, $13 a head. A pretty good deal. Earl can vouch for the food, we ate there last August.
We may do a quick loop through VMI prior to Sat night dinner, you can see where the t-shirt image came from. And Chris can show you where his room was this past year.
Sunday night dinner will be at 6:30PM Country Cookin’ just on the other side of I-64. Again, the meal and buffet will be around $13.
I hadn’t much thought about awards. If someone wants to work those up, go for it.Darrell
