Having been through Mystic many a time in varying degrees of busy-ness, it will be quite congested with this festival, as Mystic is a very artsy-craftsy type of town. When it's a normal weekend it's crowded. The weather is supposed to be very very nice to boot!
In the middle of town is a working drawbridge, very neat, very quaint, and someone ALWAYS wants to take their boat through at the height of traffic, which means the bridge goes up, the traffic stops, and we sit there in the backup. Doesn't matter which direction you come from, the backup is there as there is one Main Street through the town and the only way to get across the water.
Considering that some of us will be on air-cooled bikes, this may become rather uncomfortable. I, personally, am not able to walk very far to boot, so if we have to park "way out there", I may have to re-think going, or meet up with you folks later.
The ambience of the original Mystic Pizza is very nice, but is it worth the aggravation? Mystic Pizza II is a few miles away, out in the "country", and very easy to get to off I-95. It does not have the atmosphere that MP1 has (I guess, I have never been to MP1, just by it), but it is very nice with lots of parking and good food (I've been to MP2 a number of times).
Whatever you guys want to do....or maybe we should consider meeting at a certain spot, for instance, Exit 89 (Allyn Ave.) off the interstate and figuring out what to do from there.
